Yeah I think people are missing the purpose a bit because they have a new villain in her boyfriend when that’s not the entire point . They on twitter responding to her tweets like “ I know it’s you “
It obviously is though
He went out of his way to reply -EAH to a tweet he made from her account praising Charlie Kirk from last year

You think not being able to "see everything" was Nathan and Lance's choice? That's a total misread imo
And even then, it’s a 3 hour documentary quite literally they can’t show everything
And we also seen at times when they demanded for the cameras to be cut

Mostly by Billy too
Just cus you found guilty doesn’t mean you’re guilty bro.
I’m not sure how your friend is wrong for thinking that? Of course the audience is trying to figure out “is she actually innocent and made an honest mistake or is she this real manipulative liar like we’ve been led to believe”
I’m not saying he’s wrong. He’s 100% right but that’s not the point of the movie
Mostly by Billy too
Facts even after Elizabeth was in jail. He didn’t want that one guy being interviewed. He didn’t want Elizabeth calling Nathan. Bro was tryna run the entire thing lol. If asks another question, did Elizabeth want you to see everything while Billy does not?????

I don’t think it’s the entire point but it is a question the documentary does ask. A lot of the 2nd half is spent with them believing she’s innocent about not being apart of the deal Billy made. The doc asks that question “is she innocent”
It obviously is though

I never thought it was her lol
I hope yall realize the documentary doesn’t have just one point to it. I mean it has the theme of “how things are perceived by each individual” which also includes how this documentary is perceived, leading it to being more layered. Each person who watches this might get something different from it.

I don’t think wanting part of the proceeds for something that uses your life for content in this way is that bad though . Wanting to be filmed and requesting a major director and studio film your life even for free 99 is a conflict of interest . It’s not a live stream . It’s not a tv show it’s 3 hours of 34 days of life . The audience sighs relief she and Billy don’t profit directly from box office as if he still won’t profit from this when she is in prison

I don't think it should even be possible to come away from this with any sort of stone cold opinion on Holmes formed, nor do I think the whole "defrauding rich white investors" thing is even close to the point (it's barely even relevant imo.) I found the film to be at its most compelling when Nathan and Amanda were stressing out trying to unravel the web of lies; the whole "these people live in their own reality and we have no idea when they're lying or if they even know they're lying" thing is far more interesting than the minor coverage of the fallout from Theranos

I’m not saying there is a singular point though

and I think they shouldn’t have followed his command and that moment showed a conflict of interest in doing so ….
That moment is one of my biggest issues why listen to Billy at all as he says it’s not Billy’s documentary and they don’t even need Billy . Billy already agree to be filmed and at that point he taking profits either way . Even under the lens the entire movie they know Billy is taking percentage of box office why do they adhere to his will ….

Ofc but I think it’s kinda crazy to walk away from this documentary with that being your only takeaway. Especially when the plot is that she’s being documented a month before she goes to JAIL

Can’t be true…

But doesn’t that add to the point that the documentary made? That everyone perceives things differently? If everyone walks away all saying the exact same thing then the point didn’t land.
You need some viewers who’s mostly focused on “is she innocent or not”. The fact she goes to jail doesn’t negate that question. It’s still a valid question and one of the many questions I was asking myself while watching.
I don’t know your friend and I won’t assume that’s the only point they grabbed from the doc. Maybe that’s the only one they vocalized while in their head they contemplated other points to the doc? Idk lol

It’s kind of irrelevant. I wasn’t there as much for that because I never thought “ she innocent “ in anyway nor do I think a documentary would free her if she was . I think this movie raises a lot to talk about even if imperfect and a bit overgassed
Nathan fielder known for recreations doing a recreation isn’t a shocking twist to me . If anything I thought there would be more to prepare her for prison or reenact how patients felt or court . Something more that’s me though . Who’s on first scene wasn’t that hilarious to me . Yes it’s a miscommunication and she a airhead but she is also surrounded by cameras thinking of her family and going to prison for 11 years is on her mind. Any human is going to be a bit over the questions and jokes at times .

maybe
Side bar: if someone made a documentary about my life, my family better get some money off that. I’m just saying
