I think the takeaway was that truth is a very complicated thing as it relates to both memory reconstruction and peoples' own biases/perception of things
I could tell bro was up to no good the minute they showed him
I mean he really did serve the plot and make the entire thing more entertaining. They could easily continue the documentary just following his life and I would at times be more entertained than the parts with her.
I think the takeaway was that truth is a very complicated thing as it relates to both memory reconstruction and peoples' own biases/perception of things
And also that the truth won’t set you free.
11 years is 11 years
You won’t find it. It’s universally loved by everyone
I think its good not great and not loved. Not contrarian just think its a bit over gassed . Especially when I rate it against documentaries that presented a lot of new information and changed the way I look at the world and reality.

Nathan snapped but same way as TV show. While I liked it for sure. The third hour did drag for me
I already felt that 2026 has been one of my favorite years ever for film and this just cemented it. We're not even in Oscar season yet.

I thought the first half was really solid and the second half was incredible. I didn't fully get the hype until the reenactments.

What about the whos on first scene that scene blew my mind
I didn’t . I just think the ending overall and final hour I personally was like wrap it up . I didn’t particularly care if she got paid or not . They are recording her life for profit for a theatrical release that will make them millions . Whether she is paid or not to me there is a conflict of interest . Billy again stops the best interview that he in no way needed to even be in the room for . At a certain point for me . It’s exploiting the situation for content . There is no real greater understanding or humanity . It’s funny . We see some level of care about family and illusion of theranos 2 . But as a documentary itself I don’t know . Definitely not traditional and I enjoy the journey
When I think of documentaries that are edge of my seat with reprehensible people I think of
!https://youtu.be/uxggN_9EPqc!https://youtu.be/jLBFp2UCACkI don’t particularly care that she defrauded investors which is what she was found guilty of . Patients I care about . Then along with that I only so much know about the situation. Yes she blames her lover more while movie alludes to idea she is a mastermind great liar but like why wouldn’t it ? The idea that she is mischievous and the greatest liar ever makes for more entertaining content that makes more money . More than her being ditzy and manipulated .
The understanding is that we will never understand these sociopaths who live in their own reality and that's just how it is. Think of how insane it is that scattered throughout the first part (pre-jail) they are actually watching chemistry tutorials in 2x speed, getting ready to take another run at the Theranos idea, fully convinced that this time will be different.
Also both Fielder and Seyfried seem to believe that she is definitely the greatest liar ever, but she is also 100% being manipulated or at the very least taken advantage of by Billy while she is in prison and he is using her likeness and her Twitter account for his own personal benefit under the guise of "building love monuments for her." Both are true; again, these people live in their own clearly unexplainable reality. The documentaries you posted are monumental, breathtaking works. There's no question about that. But this serves an entirely different purpose and really is a kind of singular work that is done a disservice when compared to something else, especially other documentaries.

One of the best things put to film in recent memory.
People are really praising Fielder for this, and rightfully so, but this is a great example of where Oppenheim's involvement really sticks out. Having someone to capture Fielder while he captured Holmes and Evans was an absolutely brilliant move and played way better than the alternative, which I imagine would have just been his signature narration.
My first take is: this has left me feeling like Inception, but if Inception were a real life documentary in terms of the feeling it gives me.
Which is what all of Nathan’s work has done for the most part, but this is truly on another level because of how well known/infamous the subject matter is
Also beautifully shot, absolutely gorgeous.
Also the Amanda vs Billy argument scene was classic
Also, it’s so interesting how Nathan’s last work (Rehearsal S2) ended with a perfect plane landing on the Miracle Over the Mojave and this ended with as ambiguous of an ending as possible
10/10 movie, Nathan is the goat, give this man all the money and resources possible for whatever he wants next

Let's get some spoiler tags on this bro. Particularly the fourth and fifth lines please
How do they know people’s age?
I feel like you can appreciate one of my other takes (since I know you’re a relatively new father too) — how tf they have a newborn baby AND a documentary film crew in the house at the same time (not to mention a toddler as well), and things appear so calm
