I want to snuggle up with it
You failed as a Nas fan if you listen to this album and don’t hear a rhyme scheme
Obviously schemes are there it’s Nas but to say these are his best schemes since Stillmatic is absurdity
I specifically said he sounded younger which is what you took issue with so idk what you’re talking about. Seems like you’re having a whole different conversation
Nas has always had his pen and conceptual mind, that’s a given and it is still present on this project. What Nas gained in these last few years of activity was some energy in his flow, vocals and even attitude that had been lost for a while. And I think the correlation with that and sounding younger is pretty obvious. There’s a lot more hunger in his 20s work than there was through his late 2000s and 2010s work. This isn’t really controversial or a debatable thing so you taking issue with it is somewhat bizarre
I was just being dramatic tbh but yeah i was mainly addressing your take that this project was Nas best rapping since Stillmatic that’s insane to me regardless of how “young” he sounds or doesn’t sound
Btw he sounds much younger on the hitboy projects than he does here imo opinion but that’s neither here nor there. I personally could care less how “young” he sounds, I more so care about the technical aspects of his rapping performance and yeah from what I heard 1st listen Nas coasting on this, no where near his ceiling of what he’s capable of skill wise even at this age

That’s valid. I mean, i do think there’s a nostalgic angle to this project that could make some of it feel like coasting but I thought the conceptual records were pretty good and varied
In honor of this album we’re running DJ PREMIER VZ RZA Monday night live from the ktt2 music forum

Part 3 beat is fitting imo. Great song
Good album but tbh I prefer the hit boy albums
Valid. I think they appeal way more to the younger listeners. They have the modern flavour to the beats

lol yeah I guess I’m not that old then
I don’t have any issue with Premo he produced some of my fav Nas songs but I just felt the production and rapping were a bit better on something like KD3

The production on this is a massive grower imo. First listen I felt a little underwhelmed waiting for the Nas is like type joint. But once you know that’s not coming on repeated spins I actually love the production. Feels damn near flawless to me
Just finished listening to the album, it's pretty dope. There's a few iffy beats on here that I could do without (I can understand some of the complaints being made about the beats), but the majority of the production I enjoyed for the most part. The album's sound has more of an underground New York feel to it, and you can tell Nas and Preme weren't trying to make any commercial accessible records on here...they just wanted to strictly do them, and i think they pulled it off pretty well.
That being said, this album does NOT f*** with "King's Disease 3", period. KD3 is still Nas' best album since "Life Is Good". This new one is not as good as KD2 either, but I don't want any comparisons to take away from the quality of this new album.
It's not perfect by no means, but overall I think Nas and Preme did a solid job on here.
How are they bad? Yall gas tf outta alchemist when he’s been s***ting out drumless beats and sample loops for a decade
They’re just stiff all around and beats like 3rd Childhood, Nasty Esco Nasir are awful.
2nd Childhood is one of the best beats Nas ever rapped over too smh
This is what good modern Preemo beats sound like

Niggas acting like we don’t know what Preemo beats sound like
I’m the only one that thinks NY 3 beat is nuts?
I don't think it's nuts but I don't hate it as much as some people seem to

Genuinely love it. I think the song as a whole works perfectly. Part one was so descriptive of his life and NY as a whole growing up this is him/NY in 2025
I see the album like flashes in time. Whether it’s 80’s Nas (period in his life not rap career) 90’s Nas or modern day Nas, this has it all. It evokes that feel Illmatic had for 90’s New York but this travels in time from then to now. What I mean by evoking Illmatic feelings is that it’s the type of album where you can close your eyes and picture what he’s saying as if you were there through different eras in his life. And I feel the beats perfectly compliment his lyrics. This doesn’t sound like typical primo, but imo that’s good. I feel like he’s tailored his style perfectly for this album.
woulda been cool to have rome streetz on here tbh
if he really listen to primo he would know that his beats sounds better before ... that early produced premier albums are classics , jeru , group home , gang star - daily operation and hard to earn - no skips.......
