After the amazing run of mass appeal albums this year I guess I expected a lot more from this

It’s not bad to me by any means, it just feels underwhelming

most of these mass appeal albums were mid too

I liked most of them

I forgot the Raekwon album was part of that too though, that one disappointed me as well

This was great

Prolly easily the best of this little mass appeal run

All of the albums feel very "final" too. Especially with the Big L inclusion. Kinda eerie. Don't want my goats to go

Yeah, premo’s past his prime, this sounds very dated.

Hitboy catered perfectly to Nas’ sound all while keeping it fresh & new.

Genuinely don’t understand the HB hate. I get if you don’t like his raps but wtf is wrong with his production?

This album is perfect, I reckon it’s the best one in the whole “Legend Has It” series. I saw people writing “this album is mid” like five minutes after it dropped, and I just thought, “how’s that even possible? The album’s forty-eight minutes long.”

Anyway, besides that, what Nas has done for the culture this year is unreal.

i get what you mean about not liking Big L’s album. I vibe with it because I see it as something that simply "had to be done for hip-hop culture". And it’s pretty moving that, after all these years, Nas decided to include Big L in this run of releases.
