For all the hate hit boy got for his albums with nas. Nas sounded far better on those beats than this
The hit boy hate was really a minority of people tbh.
The beats on here arent even bad beats really, just decent. They dont match Nas' flow, cadence, delivery much. Also I dont find the structure of the songs interesting.
I feel like these songs needed extra production on them after Nas delivered his verses to fit around his verses more. Like the song Pause Tapes really needed some extra work on the production around Nas' verses, as it could have been a great song
Imagine not listening to his last 6 albums
Not a huge fan of half of those mostly bc of the beats
Kinda prefer the Mobb Deep album over this but keep in mind that I also prefer Infamous over Illmatic
wouldve been a classic if they made it in 1997
its not bad but its not special either
It definitely wouldnt
needs to find another Hit-Boy or maybe go the Alchemist route
Na I don’t want Nas over Alchemist beats. Alc is VERY hit or miss these days.
We’d be in for a very sleepy album
Yeah I’m taking KD2, 3 and Magic over this easily
I wanna give it more time but I’m pretty sure this just ain’t it
why are all these beats so empty sounding?
“Hip hop heads” love these kind of beats lol
Its funny that after all these years Nas biggest enemy is still his beat selection
the hit boy beats were great though

You can’t say this then praise the Hit-boy collabs
how the f*** did premo fumble NY state of mind 3 like that
I started crying hearing that
Streets disciple gotta be one of Nas most overhated projects. Sure it’s a double disc but Theres so many great songs on it it’s hard to ignore
Yeah it's still decent but a lot of beats are trash especially on the first disc

Live Now
Magic 1 was the most special project he's made in recent times for me. 9 songs all heat, Nas was sliding effortlessly all across those grimier sounding beats. Exactly what a Nas classic in the 2020s should sound like. Even the Rocky feature was perfect. I've burnt that s*** out.
