Ok so my theory about why my gen and under look at cigs differently than previous gens
Mainstream pop culture decided (around 2015, correlating with the blm movement) that it was cooler than ever to be black and embrace black culture (including blacks who were removed from "typical" blackness but now wanna listen to hip-hop and say nigga)
As a result, young people looked at cigs as being white, which is the opposite of being cool
Every person my age or my younger brother's age now look at cigs differently and will roast people for smoking them
This was not the case years ago

cigarettes were insanely demonized all throughout elementary school for me, i think we were the first generation to fully be engulfed by all the anti cigarette propaganda
smoking weed was always seen as the better option because it wasn’t addictive
Only wanna ball, never wanna fall
