inclusion requires accommodations
what should’ve been done differently, you think?
It seems that no one was made aware of a man with Tourette’s being there
This is what I'm wondering cus people are acting like he has to lift the world on one finger just to say "Sorry, my condition made me say those disgusting things I'm so sorry"
And I feel like a lot of people would easily accept his apology and hand-wave this s*** away
nows the perfect time for him to raise tourettes awareness too
don't think it's too late but he should definitely make a statement
wait a statement dropped 30 mins ago and we too busy doing discourse to see it
Is it bad that I’m wondering to myself why he didn’t use other slurs, or shout them at non-Black people? Still learning about Tourettes but I asked Claude about this to get a bias-free answer:
“It’s a pretty natural thing to wonder, and it’s actually a question that gets at something real about how Tourette’s and coprolalia work. The short answer is that tics, while involuntary, aren’t entirely random. Research suggests they’re often shaped by what a person’s brain has flagged as the most forbidden or taboo thing to say in a given context. So in a way, the brain almost “homes in” on what would be most socially catastrophic to blurt out — which is part of why coprolalia so often involves slurs or sexual language rather than just random words. There’s also a contextual trigger component. Davidson himself acknowledged that stress, crowds, and heightened emotion amplify his tics. When Jordan and Lindo — two prominent Black men — walked on stage, his brain may have latched onto the most charged word associated with that moment. It’s not that he harbors racist beliefs that are “leaking out” — it’s more like his brain found the most explosive possible word for that specific stimulus.”
Anyone else know a better response to it than this?
Because the N word is the most absurd slur word of them all. I can only assume he probably has said other nasty things towards other ethnic groups. He is a Scottish guy so I can see him using the P word as well towards Arabs and Indians.
I seen some with Tourette's who has made pedo comments around children. They just make the most hideous comment possible in the circumstances they are in. It's a very heartbreaking disability, which has leaded to many getting attacked or commit suicide.

the warning given beforehand was basically “he might make noises or gestures”, nothing about cursing & slurs
So based off this logic hes just not capable of being around black people at all right?
In a way without risking it not really no @sab am I wrong ? People with this level black people with this level also say hard r to strangers which is still offensive or I’ve seen someone do the grim salute . The condition in public constantly risk offending others yes
he screamed s*** at other people all night. he left the room after the n word moment though
Yeah it’s reported he shouted “fuck off”, “bullshit”, and “shut the f*** up” at Sara Nutt while she was presenting another award.
One of the Sinners producers, Hannah Beachler, said that he said the hard R three different times, including saying it to her face after the show (he left 25 minutes in).
That’s why I was curious about if he said other slurs or if he said it to non-Black attendees. I’m not sure how triggers work for coprolalia which is why I was trying to learn more about it.

true
what about the people in attendance? Delroy & MBJ still had to hear that shouted at them
apparently the organisers didn't really communicate with Delroy and MBJ about it so that's also a f*** up on their parts

Ok so he did apologize, he did leave, multiple people explained Tourette’s syndrome to the audience, and the movie won best lead actor
What did we miss here

THATS an apology??? or am i tripping?
Idk nan bout em
just ask @banneduser about his thoughts on uzbekistan
Yall act like approaching MBJ/Delroy and saying a quick "Im sorry you know I didn't mean that" is the hardest thing in the world to do? I guaranteed MBJ/Delroy wouldve showed grace and kept it pushing.
Imma be real I don't think any of the users defending bro really care about how they feel
So based off this logic hes just not capable of being around black people at all right?
