"Covering the mouth can help manage coprolalia by muffling involuntary, offensive vocal outbursts, making them less disruptive in social or professional settings. It serves as a, sometimes necessary, masking technique for individuals with Tourette Syndrome to release the urge to shout without causing maximum disturbance." via Tourettes Association of America

I feel like you had one of the clearer statements on page one, and also asked why didn't he even apologize.

I'm not sure how a few people twisted up your words

Nobody said that, the other dude was more so wondering why didn't he at least attempt to apologize or something IF he didn't truly mean to say it

do you mean specifically shouting back an apology in the moment or in an interview or on social media after the fact?

I think some people think Tourettes is always a thing of having certain repeating 'tic' phrases, but if you have a condition called coprolalia as well, it really is a matter of intrusive thoughts coming into your head about what the most inappropriate thing to say at that time would be and then immediately blurting it out, it's not that the condition 'makes you racist', but it can absolutely make you say racist, sexist, homophobic etc stuff, there's no 'choice' or ability to restrain yourself when these things happen, it's the kind of thing that makes a person shout 'bomb' at an airport

He absolutely needs to publicly apologise to MBJ and Delroy and make all of the above extremely clear, and honestly even though the point of the movie about him is that people with Tourettes are just the same as anyone else, they don't mean the stuff they involuntarily say, and should be accepted in everyday life, I really think the private booth option suggested ITT would have been the best call, knowing his condition and the hurt that tics can cause people, it's just waiting for a disaster to have him in an audible place on such a big night

The fact that this was aired hours after it happened, they cut 'Free Palestine' from a speech, but left this in is genuinely disgusting though, who does it benefit to keep this in there

He was saying why didn't he apologize in the moment. He doesn't have an inability of apologizing and reminding people he blurted that out cus of his disease
