Ok, off first watch.
Cinematics: 9/10
My only downside is that a lot of the pedestrians and fans still look like they’re dressed like it’s modern day.
Otherwise than that, Jaafar really his Uncle’s twin.
Plot and Storyline: 5/10
There’s a lot of things that are left out and rushed and tbh I blame that on the lawsuits and the negative press surrounding the movie.
Like there should’ve been more scenes of his childhood before fame, more scenes with Jackson 5, and more scenes with Katherine.
Also no scenes with Diana??? No mentions of MJ’s role in Wiz???

Acting: 10/10
Everybody did well in their parts, I really can’t complain at all.
Colman Domingo’s performance as Joe was f***ing amazing.
I wouldn’t put him above Lawrence in American Dream, but damn, his portrayal of Joe was so damn good.
You had to laugh and get angry at how ridiculous Joe was
Overall: 7/10
I really feel like the edited scenes would possibly save this film, but I’m glad this went successful enough to spark a sequel.
I NEED THE FAQUA CUT THO
Thank god newer gens don’t even know who tf prince is so they’ll never even make an atrocity biopic for him like this 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Hoping we get a purple reign 4k remaster theatre rerelease though 👀
They shoved Prince into a Stranger Things finale. Hollywood + record execs are gonna force it.
Pretty sure the Korean premiere is today
Yep - Russia + Japan next, I think that'll be everywhere once those are out
Very fun movie, but this s*** the most promo biopic I’ve ever seen lol. Like we get it, bruh cared about the animals and the disabled and s*** lol.
This was alright I’m more a fan of his later work so I’ll see where the sequel goes
In retrospect and after further consideration I just wanted more of the movie and I feel like the movie gave me everything I could of wanted with what the studio allowed excited for a sequel and for Michael to continue being the greatest artist of all time
