The Bad Tour was live every night for nearly 3 years & did serious damage to his voice.

Coupled with the lupus & severe damage to his lungs, he didn’t have the capacity to do both anymore. I think he went down the “people want a show” route, keeping the theatrics & spectacle.

That makes a lot of sense. I always think how many TV early Jackson’s appearances were live, as its a TV show and I would think they make the say. There’s one that’s clearly live and he nails it, it was in 1974 with some fire , completely in key voice cracks, this was after he learned that method of singing, I forgot the name of it but you like press your tongue against your teeth and it gives a lisp to your vocals but it opens your range in same way. I learned it a while ago can’t remember what it’s called

    1.”Monster”

    2.”Breaking News”

    3.”Stay”

    4.”Keep Your Head Up”

    5.”Everything’s Just Fine”

    6.”Black Widow”

    7.”Burn Tonight”

    8.”All I Need”

    9.”Water”

    10.”Let Me Fall in Love”

    11.”Ready to Win”

    12.”Soldier Boy”

all fake. Mamacita was someone else’s song tagged as Mike - might be the same Jason Malachi guy

Yeahhh you’re bringing it all back to me with that Jason Malachi name, his voice is very close, but that mamacita song in general Michael wouldn’t take that and pass on Rock Your Body

The entire Smooth Criminal videoclip is a masterpiece

I almost wanted to say this but I would say the Moonwalker film as a whole with smooth criminal I can see as number one. With the context it’s just on another level. Another song where the lyrics are a statement, I could make high school slacker low gpa graduate a***ysis all day but to compare him to Ye for a second he’s speaking on/from the point of view of Harvey Weinstein type people like Ye did on MBDTF, examples like “ he told her take them glasses off and get in the pool” “your fired and your girlfriend hired but if you don’t mind ima keep you on call”
It’s a genius way to bring awareness in an “if you know you know” way, like a threat to the people that are sick like that in the industry.
Reaching conspiracy levels here but I’d like to say the whole shunting/orgy scene in the middle is saying something about The entertainment industry as well

i suspect some of the vocals on invincible wasn't him either

The song you’re implying which is 2000 Watts is still MJ. He had a vocal range that could go pretty deep if he wanted it to. It throws people off because the classic narrative is that he always had that high pitched voice but truthfully he could go pretty deep when he wanted to.

Especially if you watch interviews from that era. Not to bring him down but I believe part of it was the sedatives. As an on and off x**** guy myself that hiccup interview at the award show shows everything I gotta see

This is why I’ll just never understand people say was ashamed of his race. As he evolved as an artist his music & message was more “black” than ever. Think the symbolism behind the panther, the TDCAU short film that got banned on TV and dismissed as MJ as an anti semite etc

Oh yeah don’t even get me started, “jew me, sue me” is a bit of a double entendre, but then he followed it right back with the “kick me ___ me” that was actually meant to be sticking up for those of Jewish faith from my point of view. If he said a bunch of hard R s*** the media would’ve taken it a whole different way and a different crowd would be mad

That’s what I’m saying I’m not starting rumors but I feel like the worst Michael has done is like Jay Z level s*** as far as barely legal women but that was their culture (not advocating at all for preying and waiting for girls to turn 18) but lmao

Nah man this is dumb - the vocal takes etc prove it’s MJ. It was his most personal album, the stories of him recording Scream are amazing. He lip synced on the tour due to having laryngitis for some of it & due to age and the discoid lupus damaging his lungs (badly too) he didn’t really have much choice.

MSG 2001 was more live but the TV version we all know was re-recorded in a studio by MJ

@OP Word on the street is MJ was involved with the Sonic 3 OST but refused to be credited because he was not satisfied with the console's sound quality. Have you heard of this one?

What do y’all think the true best MJ video/film is?
    Remember The Time
The Way You Make Me Feel
    Liberian Girl
    Black or White

I think the Remember The Time is the true best tbh, along with my Mom telling me stories about the premiere, in my head to debut Black or White to the simpsons audience with a fairly “white” song/video with the car thing at the end, but premier the black centric Remember The Time as just all around fun and good times. He was making statements left and got damned right

I’m ignorant to the artists that influenced this person that I’m mentioning, but The Way You Make Me feel is like an Elvis song dialed up to 1000

Here's what we know: A few months after Jackson's Sega visit, a Bronx-born dentist and screenwriter named Evan Chandler accused Jackson of molesting Chandler's 13-year-old son. Jackson, humiliated and facing a grand jury investigation, canceled the rest of his tour. As Jackson biographer Joe Vogel detailed, companies such as Pepsi began to drop Jackson from endorsement deals.

Sega maintains it never worked with Jackson on Sonic 3, and is "not in the position to respond" to questions about allegations to the contrary. "We have nothing to comment on the case," the company said.

But the men whom Sega credited with writing the music say otherwise. Six men -- Brad Buxer, Bobby Brooks, Doug Grigsby III, Darryl Ross, Geoff Grace and Cirocco Jones -- are listed as songwriters in Sonic 3's endgame scroll. Buxer, Grigsby and Jones tell The Huffington Post that Jackson worked with them on a soundtrack for Sonic 3 -- and that the music they created with Jackson ended up in the final product.
