switch 1 definitely gonna hold switch 2 back in graphics quality for a couple years

None of the 2026 1st-party NS2 games are cross-gen though (so far)
I'll have to wait for friday to play this cause tomorrow im too busy to even hit a gamestop let alone play any of it...

can you remind me what they are? totally forgotten atp

switch 1 performance is pretty good for those of you that are on it still
yea its looking like ill just circle back to 2 and 3 after playing this
i can get prime 1 done maybe today but i waited way too long for 4 to not play it on day 1
Obviously no
Maybe something closer to the original Metroid Prime prototype with more speed and acrobatics
There’s quite a few 3rd-person action games that Metroid could take inspiration from such as Returnal and Uncharted (cover-based combat anyone?
).
Returnal was always a game that i wanted 3d metroid to look at for inspo, although i still want the focus to be exploration. I'd also love for them to keep 1st person perspective, it adds a lot to the immersion, especially considering all the attention to detail that the visors get. But maybe giving a toggle for 1st/3rd person perspective would help the games have more broad appeal, for some reason people are less drawn to a first person perspective in action/adventure games.
I keep mentioning a reinvention but honestly the prime formula is so good and so metroid that i struggle to think of another way to do it while keeping the series main focus and unique take on atmosphere and exploration. I certainly don't envy those who are inevitably going to be tasked with this job.
Btw we're 4 years removed from dread and i got a feeling the next 2d metroid is a 2027 release, and a proper switch 2 game at that considering the first switch 2 games started production in 2021/2022, so in line with when work on metroid 6 would start

-Mario Tennis Fever
-Pokopia
-Yoshi and the Mysterious Book
-Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave
-Splatoon Raiders (not confirmed for 2026 yet)
-The Duskbloods (not 1st-party but exclusive)
Didn’t include the NS2 Editions of Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Super Mario Bros. Wonder seeing as those are old games as opposed to brand-new day & date cross-gen releases such as Pokémon Legends: Z-A and MP4
fck my fukcing life got spoilered on Youtube someones thumbnail for final cutscene in my recommendations

Tried to beat Prime 2 before MP4 but couldn’t..
With all this backtracking, portal-hopping, and obtuse design choices, the whole game feels like a goddamn maze for no reason
I think I’ll play it still in-between my sessions with MP4 though

I have refunded games on eshop multiple times lol

not playing till tonight cos i like physical media
nevermind f*** amazon wtf they mean friday

I listened to Fury green track on Nintendo music goddamn what a masterpiece, the hardest parts of Metroid to get are the vibes and at least on that regard it really seems this is a Metroid ass Metroid game. For all the praise i can give dread, the music is unfortunately not it. I didnt listen to anything else cause i don't want to spoil myself the atmosphere of these places but so far so good
