Fascinating that you are seemingly only now discovering you have it
May I ask what caused it? Or if u wanna be less specific, what is the nature of the act/event/behavior that led to the C-PTSD?
The fact that I post in here when I really wanna talk to a person IRL is a downer, wish I could reach out to my people

You need magnesium with it to absorb. Sometimes a multivitamin help but if you are eating right magnesium and vitamin d will be something you still need. It will make a difference I don't know what sunlight or how winter is in netherlands off the top of my head but it definitely will help

Try Ashwaghanda, it reallly took the edge off my anxiety.
Also, It may suck to hear it, but high intensity exercise is vital

i always knew things were kind of off about me since i was young but i was just not informed enough on mental health+too dissociated from emotions and just chalked all of these kind of symptoms under "depression" or "anxiety" not knowing there was an underlying reason (trauma) for having depression or anxiety,
for someone with c-ptsd it often starts with the original attachment with the primary caregiver that starts developing from birth, disorganized attachment is the worst out of the 4 possible attachment types a child can form with the caregiver and is usually born out of environmental factors, parental neglect/abuse and or the caregiver not attending to the childs needs sufficiently, so alot of this stuff has to do with disturbed early childhood psychosocial development,
disorganized attachment is the attachment style linked with the highest risk for developing further psychopathologies such as c-ptsd and personality disorders,

Thank you for explaining bro hopefully since you're aware of it now you can learn how to work through it
It kind of reminds me of my own situation, vaguely. One parent was largely absent in raising me and another was in and out of hospital for a few years due to an accident.
I told them I was depressed when I was 10 (10!!!)) but with the lack of awareness as well as a language barrier I wasn't taken serious at all. I also made threats of sui*d* which had a very negative reaction.
So now it makes me wonder how it affected me, especially in terms of attachment styles and development through adolescence

parents not being emotional attuned to a child and their needs leads to problems with self-regulation because when you are young you learn only how to regulate yourself through the caregiver co-regulating you first so if you didnt get that enough youre gonna have problems
parents own personal conflicts and attachment issues with their own parents wouldve interfered with their ability to take care of you when you were young hence the generational part
your attachment style with your parents gets projected out into the world and other relationships because the original attachment is what dictates your internal working model, so if you feel helpless all the time when you are navigating life as an adult it probably comes from when you were a child and you felt helpless when no one was there for you
all this mental health trauma is a field day to read through compared to reading about early childhood development and realising all the things wrong with you are from what you didnt get as a child
@Crossroader if you find any of this helpful/relate im down to talk anytime to help you learn more with whatever limited knowledge i got from therapy/learning for myself for about the past year
Everyone that does have insurance in this thread use it to get therapy. I am not saying this as an insult or slight I am saying sometimes people only think of insurance as for when they get injured or medical check ups but it can sometimes fully cover therapy appointments too. You may not find the best therapist right away but if you try you can make progress on your brain for the down times
Wish y'all luck and love

Yeah it's definitely more intriguing to read about because it's a lot of "
oh s***, no wonder..." Lol
Funny thing is older gens don't even consider it, it's just how life is for them

Yeah for sure. I wouldn't even know where to start though. Do you want to talk 1 on 1 or in here?
I'm curious to know what you've learnt that has been particularly helpful for days where everything starts to feel like a downward slope, or perhaps telltale signs to know that sort of day is coming
