Literally saw 2 grown men after labor day parade today and one was successfully talking the other (more inebriated) man down from walking up and trying to spit game at two very accentuated derrière’d women in front of us on the side walk.

It’s minor but this is an example of de-escalation. The type of s*** @BigDckBandit (smh) is talking about. Stopping a situation BEFORE it even gets to a point of lethal/police situation.

Why is it so hard for men to imagine preventative measures?

Like maybe it’s black ingenuity from having to keep your eyes on a swivel since…you first learn police dont really like you, but you can easily tell and read the signs for when a situation is about to go topsy turvy.

Men can be unpredictable and scary sometimes absolutely but one thing thats universal is you can tell when a nigga bout to get big mad.

That could’ve been said before he started bugging up. Before he approached the brick, before he picked up, before he got ready to launch. That situation could’ve been stopped well before shorty got hit in the face with a brick. Especially with a group of friends right there to witness it. You don’t have to go all in, there’s been situations where a nigga just make it known he not with that or spoke up. A nigga not about to bug up on a group of niggas and if he does, that’s an easy dub, unless it’s a group of niggas with no hands.

Tbh a lot of men are scared of other men and they just tap dance around it lol. I mean, I don't think we should try and gaslight men into thinking that doing things for women will get them romantic/sexual/whatever validation either.

It's a tough situation because the fundamental reality of this society is there is nothing on Earth that can really guarantee you those things in a world where everyone (rightfully) has equal rights, so this whole notion of "men are the protectors and therefore we are entitled to xyz" kind of falls apart, and you're seeing that come to a head here.

I'll say this, oftentimes it ain't even about checking random dudes on wild s***. An unfortunate reality is a lot of men don't even check their own homeboys they know who are on some violent or rapey bullshit towards women all that much.

Take this situation with the dude hitting the woman with a brick. Just a bunch of other guys just standing around doing nothing. I feel like the reason why dude was so comfortable doing that is because some of the guys just standing there might be his homies and he knows none of them would stop him.
