This story with Meg really wasn't as massive and far reaching as you all think tho. I doubt the court had major issues finding candidates who randomly showed up for duty that had relatively little knowledge or didn't care at all about Meg or Tory before being assigned.

The discourse of this case even with the media reporting on it suffered because everyone was blinded by 2.5 years of arguing it and could't really understand the jury's vantage point and the lopsided amount of evidence and witnesses presented to them. People were stuck discussing Gayle King and Meg's prior stories like they mattered in this trial.

One side brought a story, evidence (including communications), and close witnesses while the other had little to show for other than basic speculation and no clear competing narrative to sell. Jury had nothing to look at but the prosecutions s*** lol
