Here’s the problem with this

She pled the 5th to numerous questions, suggesting that she does not want to incriminate herself. That means she’s not being truthful about her involvement.

One question she vehemently did not plead the 5th on, with the acknowledged threat of perjury looming, is bribery. She broke character on the stand to hammer home how ridiculous of a claim it was. So why plead the 5th on other serious questions and not this one if you took 1M and have immunity?

This really was an unfortunate accident but Tory facing potentially 20 years just because Meg/Rocnation couldn't handle two weeks of people having questions about the night on social media is wild.

Tory should absolutely be held accountable for even bringing a gun into the scuffle if that's what he did.

This isn’t true. Bullet fragments being found is a fact of this case. The no DNA posts are misinformation. The gun had too many DNA profiles to say whose DNA it was.

On Wednesday morning, Kelsey's lawyer tells the judge she plans to invoke her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. They have to specifically ask the judge because you can't just invoke it whenever you want. There has to be a determination you are actually facing possible criminal consequences. The prosecutors, for their part, had said they didn't have any interest in filing charges against her. (I suppose this was back when they thought she would testify saying the same things that she did in the September interview, though.)

We don't know what reasons were given to the judge as to what she didn't want to incriminate herself regarding. But whatever reasons were given, they convinced the judge to allow her to invoke her Fifth Amendment right, which means that he was convinced that her possible testimony could in fact incriminate her somehow.

In any case, the DA agreed to give her "use immunity," which means her testimony in this case can't be used as evidence in a criminal proceeding against her. (It is noted several times that this immunity doesn't cover immunity against perjury.) This also means that she can't plead the Fifth, since if she's categorically not going to be prosecuted for her statements, she is not going to incriminate herself.

When she tries to plead the Fifth when the DDA asks her if Tory threatened to shoot her, she's told she has to answer, and she says yes. When she's asked what Tory said, she tries to plead the Fifth again and is again told that she has to answer. So idk if I would use her pleading the Fifth as an example of what she did or didn't do, since she doesn't seem to understand how it works.

The only way that the pleading the Fifth would apply to her being involved in the shooting is if she told the judge that she was planning on testifying that she was. But she testified that she didn't shoot Meg.

Because immunity wasn't her idea, anyway, it seems like the prosecutors agreed to give it to her to take the question of pleading the Fifth off the table.
