I think she pulled the trigger. She got her ass whooped by meg, went to the car to grab the gun and Tory jumped in.

And Her testimony isn't trying to save tory, it's to save herself.

She was the one who was fighting meg -- but claims she doesn't remember the fight on the stand

She was the one who pled the 5th when she was initially asked about the shooting.

She has all the motive, and has the gun residue, which is why she's dodging the questions about the fight, which would openly show her motive and connect why she too has gun residue on her

It makes sense then, that the gun discharges because Tory's trying to get the gun out of her hand, and her bruises and bald spot is from Tory dragging her like a rag doll after the gun discharges to get back into the car.
