“Cash grab” to me has nothing to do with people having love for a franchise and ultimately going to see a movie for that reason

Cash grab by definition is when you make a product (even if no one heard of it before) in such a way that it satisfies every want of the audience because it is clear from data what they are demanding

Go in expecting to hate it so you have low expectations then log on to ktt abs hate it for 24 hours straight and tell people how watching it ruined your life and you want financial compensation

And i doubt that the love and care is absent, maybe not in the places and ways that you personally value, but i’m sure Lana did things very intentionally. Going from a big production to an indie style experience is a deliberate choice, chosen with care and love. Maybe the execution lacks and i can’t judge that until i see it, but in theory everything still sounds very okay and reasonable to me.
