You know dune was mostly filmed with natural sunlight, and the interiors were filmed using lights mimicking natural sunlight. This looks fake in comparison.

I actually can pinpoint the problem, John Toll the director of photography is actually a great Director of Photography but he didn't transition smoothly to digital. Also this was filmed in HFR. Just like The Hobbit and Gemini Man. Look at those movies and look at this. The problem with shooting with High Frame Rates is it creates a soap opera look to it.

But why she say fresh and originality? To get constant new ideas of what’s next ?

I agree with high frame rates and have said this would have went crazy if certain parts filmed in film , digital, imax , Komodo and even GoPro based on medium is the message but I can’t be mad something tries to do something when no blockbusters taking risk at all

Dune isn’t that risky at all yes it’s a tougher book to adapt but story wise I can’t act like heroes journey is being done risky still

Same machines that were screaming for him not to jump yet keep putting him on same treadmill same despair same episodes

they used red cameras, cameras I worked with a lot and shot naturally on them, the problem was this was shot in 120fps all the time , that destroys cinematography, the blurriness from shadows is all gone

funny thing the scenes in I/O were shot at 25fps

my reasoning for lana to do this is because she didn't know what to put in slow motion so she recorded everything that way so she could decide after in editing

on my research I found something cool tho, the scene were the a***yst goes full slow motion had 15 cameras side by side recording at different speeds to create that look

They are great horrors in natural sunlight just as dark as anything in matrix 1 which mainly took place at night in decrepit buildings in subways with only a homeless man in the projects where he fights smiths and the dark raining streets.

I knew that about a***yst scene cause they had hyped it up so much so I valued that . The frames per second on Niobe and IO scenes didn’t change the content . Should all scenes been filmed in a consistent frame rate in film not digital wider shots no shaky cam? Yeah I’ve said this movie lacks the anime visual style I missed and feel would hold value to this . I’ve said I wish it felt more like cloud atlas than sense8 in filming and editing

But is it cheaper to do it this way cause again that’s what makes sense to me ? It’s definitely not more expensive to do it this way

But yes I see simalirities and have said it’s not perfect or ideal
