I didn't play Fallen Order much but this isn't true for Spiderman
Square the basic attack button, Triangle to close distance, you HAVE to press dodge when the indicator appears or you'll get hit and have your combo interrupted, bumpers and triggers to use webs/throw objects. You're not surviving on Normal or above if you're just using one button
You have to press to dodge in FO too? And you can parry enemy saber attacks if you time it right.
Yes you press triangle once to close distance then you just mash square until they’re knocked out, kick and punch is literally the same button.
Yes there’s gadgets and with Miles you got the Venom moves but there’s gadgets in FO… I think Survivor introduced a pistol but not positive… but even in FO you have all the force moves, force push, time freeze, you can throw your lightsaber at the enemy.
But for both games your mostly just mashing one button for combat.
I’ve played both Spider-Man and Miles Morales on the hardest difficulty and 100% both of them, as well as 100% Fallen Order on the hardest difficulty. When it comes to combat, they’re pretty much the same.

Then you know you can't beat the games just by hitting the square button. Having one button for attacks doesn't necessarily = repetitive and these games don't even have that. Square/X functions as the "light attack", Triangle/Y functions as the "heavy attack". You're supposed to mix them up, dodge and use gadgets/abilities
Arkham games had a similar setup, press X/square until the counter indicator appears and you have to press Y/triangle. They can't dedicate a separate input for punches and kicks when there's limited buttons on a controller and they need to map a dodge, jump, gadgets etc. I don't get why you're saying this makes those Star Wars games and Spiderman the same, pretty much every action adventure game featuring melee combat is setup this way
About to replay the first game and Miles Morales again one more time
And I’m going to use the Spiderverse suits
Replayed the campaign for the first game, one of the weak points of the plot is that almost every villain has the same has a disease looking for cure origin story.
Combat isn’t that much different than Spider-Man tbh
I haven’t played Survivor but I played Fallen Order and it’s pretty much the same thing just with a lightsaber instead of your fists
maybe in terms of melee or hack n slash v beat em up, but i wouldn't say combat or gameplay are the same
either way, i have far more fun in the spidey games vs jedi, and spidey has more offerings. jedi plays it safe and they still f*** up

Oh yeah definitely don’t do it sober, don’t torture yourself like that. Like a medium level of smacked is ideal

I been playing these games wrong

Wait why
Cause the spider man games are extremely tedious
if you’re trying to 100% the game and do all the little side activities and get the collectibles, then I’d consider that aspect tedious. But the main missions and story I wouldn’t consider tedious at all

For me the main story cool but when I try to do even a little side content to level up and get suits its all tedious stuff to me . I respect that people love swinging around, completionist and living in the world but to me there is not much to the world.
I respect it though

I feel like MIles Morales was a bit better in that regard, for me it was fairly easy to 100% compared to the first game (that one I didnt even want to play after the main story) since usually I never even bother trying to get those platinum trophies
Hopefully this new one will be an even bigger step in the right direction with all the side content and activities

im the opposite lol, i cared more about everything besides the story

I mean the story also to me wasnt hot but the side content was lacking. It was repetitive to take down hideouts but I did it. I am saying side quest wise they need to work on that content and more things to do that take you around town rather than go to a location beat people up or swing through hoops
