Chat, I know it's just a tv show and a comic book universe, but I feel like I am the only wondering how Fisk is even a free man, right now?
I binged DD S3 last week, and SPOILER ALERTTTTTT for anyone who hasn't seen that yet:
but, by the end of it it's basically public knowledge that he corrupted the FBI, and is responsible for the disappearance/murder of quite some people, including cops. So, with this show taking place like, what, 3-4ish years from then, how is he even free, let alone elected as mayor
The same with Bullseye, he's literally found by cops while unconscious in the DD suit, which at that point everyone knows is responsible for multiple murders. How is he walking free at the beginning of Born Again?
Also, some of y'all need to realise not everything is about the man Trump. He's not the first, only, or last populist corrupt politician in the history of man. He's just, in your world/experience, the face of a dynamic that this show explores.
Kinda ties into that Kendrick line from watch the party die: They don't hate me, but the man that I represent.

There's definitely some Trumpisms with Fisk and his campaign but I agree generally speaking

That's why all the people saying it's starting out bold or unpredictable frustrate me a little bit.
It feels very "we need this to happen so we're just going to let it happen"
I think they're going to bring him back. I think the story was written with them killed off screen prior to the show so when they creatively overhauled the show it was to potentially fix that and give it the weight it "needed". Does it work? I don't think so! But I could easily see them already planning on backtracking it and not being able to say anything about it right now.
born again, and they already adapted the born again comic
born again, and they already adapted the born again comic
yeah calling this season Born Again is nuts when Season 3 is just a loose adaptation of that book
When Netflix Daredevil does a 1 take fight it feels done in-camera, but somehow the MCU makes it all look CGI

See I feel some people already went just into this show hoping to dislike it just because it is in the MCU now. It’s like the words MCU mean ASS to them. They need to give it a chance. The first fight was fine. Only slightly off part was when he jumped on the roof lol.

I'm rewatching it right now and a lot of it looks not great.
And that's coming from someone who loved his inclusion in She-Hulk lmao.

Looked fine to me
I love that he was moving faster too. It had most of the Netflix feel with a little mcu in it. Just hoping the writing stays good.

I more had issue with all the stuff going on. The smoke was clearly CGI, the other people looked green screened in in the main room where it was all happening. The stairs scene worked fine though.
Also, just checking here. It is safe to say those 2 guys by the end of ep2 are dead right? As DD got away with the 'not killing' dex in the first ep simply bc he survived due to his modified spine, we cannot say the same about those 2 at the end, right?
So as of now he has officially killed
would suck if so!
S3 is all about the fact that Matt won't kill and I don't think they've earned a reversal on that character growth yet

No you see the one dude in other scenes in the trailer so they’re not dead

Ah alrighty. Just violently knocked them the f*** out then lmfaooo
do we even know why Bullseye goes after Karen/Foggy but doesn't seem to know Matt is Daredevil?

reviews been saying that aspect gets more and more in your face later on
this Fisk guy seems pretty alright, finally someone that’s gonna make Hell’s kitchen great again
So when does Born Again happen? Before or after She-Hulk
After apparently
so 2026 type shi?
On the Disney+ Timeline this takes place after Agatha which was Fall 2026 so yeah
Wait, so
Matt finds out the guy is White Tiger and then immediately tells the judge/prosecution??
I think the whole show's tone can kinda be summarized in how they reuse the OG theme at points but 75% of the actual score and the "hero theme" is this new theme that's not that connected to the original at all. Almost as if they don't want to pay the guys who wrote the original theme more than they have to outside of the opening theme.
