You can choose to be a Spider-Man or Iron-Man (if you have the money)..or you can just not be those things. Mutants just exist with god-like abilities. Xavier school is maybe 0.001% of the peak mutant population. The average mutant just exists with powers and no guidance.

If you're trying to compare X-Men (who were trained to control powers) to Avengers, maybe it holds up. Heroes (largely based in NYC) to a global population of millions of people tho? Imo it doesn't

There are plenty of non-mutant heroes with god-like abilities

Y’all are only focusing on the most powerful mutants and ignoring that there are plenty of mutants in the universe who don’t have planet-destroying powers (such as literally the most popular mutant of them all)

Rewatched First Class today and there was a line that explains the humans hatred towards mutants well. It went something along the lines of: why wouldn’t the humans fight against their extinction

They fear mutants because if people are now being born with powers or mutations what happens to the race of normal beings

Beast is a really distinct presence you need that I don’t see from him . When I watched her private he’ll definitely saw him as potentially in a hero film but not as beast

for sure, he wasnt my first choice either. but compared to all the other names that've come up in contention and what marvels been doing w similarly hefty characters.. their track record isnt promising. melton by comparison at least has a je ne sai qua to his acting that feels a bit more mature/emotionally complex. i can look past a voice (which can easily be altered or projected) for that
