It's not necessarily Spiderman fighting the villains solo or the screen-time of other MCU heroes that's the problem, it's that so much of his character and the plot are dependent on his MCU relationships.

In Homecoming, Iron Man takes away Peter's Starktech suit, forcing him to use his homemade suit. This is admittedly not a bad thing for his first movie, but his entire character development throughout is now attached to Tony rather than Peter discovering what it means to be a hero on his own.

In Far From Home, Peter is given the SHIELD suit and StarkTech, rather than having to rely on his own abilities (until the final fight at least). Even though he doesn't appear in much of the movie, Peter's entire class trip is diverted because of Nick Fury. In this movie and the previous one, the villains have a connection to Tony.

It just feels like Spiderman is made out to be Iron Man Jr. sometimes. I think when people feel some type of way about it, they are missing the vibes of Spiderman 1 & 2, where he's a regular guy with powers and not this sci-fi hero that he's been made out to be recently.

even other characters that have solos it feels more natural why the MCU universe plot is happening and they have their own development

spider man trilogy has been hamfisted and treated him as a child that needs coddling and help every single step of the way to the point where he barely even appears intelligent

damn, reading this makes me wish they would adapt this crazy obscure one-shot from amazing fantasy 15 where peter has a chance to stop a burglar, but he doesn't cause the burglar's victim was a d*** to him.

But when he gets home he realizes that the burglar killed his uncle! that's so crazy isn't it???

MCU rendered peter completely pointless. The funny thing is that it feels like a total accident.

They had multiple opportunities (and in a lot of ways did) set him up as the next lead of the marvel universe, but with nwh they were basically just isolated him as much as possible without outright killing him or banishing him to another universe

its the fact that none of peter's arc or character progression is fueled by peter. it's always a lesson from some outside source (usually iron man) and it makes the character feel like a sidekick in his own movie

Idk man I simply don’t mind this Spidey stories being so intertwined with the MCU characters. Especially when we have other movies that are more traditional Spidey archs

It’s what i ultimately expected, he’s their biggest hero so naturally they want him to engage with as many plot lines in the universe as possible

Now whether those plot lines are of high quality or not is a different matter

But even with his heavy Iron Man involvement, he never came off as not being Spidey to me

those reviews genuinely need to be investigated. I am not saying make it rotten on rotten tomatoes but the quotes were so abhorrently foul hyping it up.

I waited til hyped died down and saw it for myself an open mind hyped for Mysterio. That is the most one time watch movie I may have ever seen. Nothing of it demands a multiple watch or your attention even if you think Iron Man is your own dad

The amount of pushing the "iron man is dead"

WAS SO F***ING OBNOXIOUS WHEN IDEALLY BY NOW WE WOULD HAVE SEEN SPIDER MAN GRIEVE IDK THE SAME MAN HE HAS GRIEVED HIS ENTIRE CAREER UNCLE F***ING BEN

BUT NO THEY ARE TOO GOOD TO MENTION UNCLE BEN

    WE ARE #DIFFERENT NOT A #ORIGINSTORY

So RDJ serves as his Uncle Ben like the man didn't choose to die to save the universe on some Goku ass s***

except Goku them motherfuckers didnt stare at the ground for too long saying "goku dead"

they tried to bring him back to life and found the power within

Iron Man ruined this universe man. There is absolutely no way around it. They could have continued after Endgame with a plan and a new center piece but they were scrambled

X Men wasnt ready, Spider Man they are afraid to make a f***ing adult even though in high school he saved the entire universe multiple times

    IN F***ING HIGH SCHOOL

THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN TIME SKIPPED

Its not even truly adding much of value to the MCU is the issue though gang

its not like we are seeing daredevil and spider man fight king pin

its just hamfisting a dead mans story into spider mans

iron man is dead and spider man purpose to deal with grieving . So now its grieve for grieve if he isnt as mopey about aunt may as iron man that will look weird and he spent large portions of final two saying mr stark this mr stark that

like he didn't have anyone else who raised him before he met tony

I just see his relationship with Tony a natural choice since we didn’t have characters like Reed or Osborn

Again the quality of it is different cause tbh the writing for most MCU projects could be tighter in general but them giving this Spidey his relationship with Iron Man the initial reason for him to exist in the MCU is fine with me

Hopefully they evolve past that cause it would be a breathe of fresh air but given we now know he’s getting two trilogies, the first being Iron Man focused (which damn near all of the MCU is anyway) makes sense
