I think they want to son the Raimi fanboys and spiderman "purists" not necessarily the movies. Raimi fanboys been s***ting on the franchise since spiderman 4 got canceled and the purists been s***ting on Tom's spiderman for 10 years now.

This and homecoming my two favorite mcu spiderman movies I think. I just think homecoming hit the mark perfectly with a amateur spiderman and a small scale on the ground villain that was perfect for the stakes
