imagine if spider-man wasn't bound to the mcu and we actually got spider-man movies that looked good and not like f***ing grey tv commercials
Bill don’t respond To my calls no more
they will never have this type of swag again
it breaks my heart looking at how f***ing ugly mcu spider-man movies look
I’ve been saying this the entire time on here and people told me to be patient . Now I may finally eat
I was not expecting a Dhurandhar reference in this thread of all places. That too AI'd onto Spider-Man, internet in 2026 is crazy.
What did you guys expect from a Spider-Man in highschool?
Apart from Uncle Ben's murder all the other tragic s*** happens after highschool. Dude lost his mentor, aunt, bestfriend, girlfriend (twice) and identity by the end of the third one. He's had a pretty rough time until now, I'm sure they'll bring in the rent and job stuff in the new trilogy.

my issue is that the arc peter's character goes on in the original trilogy definitely was not planned
it's pretty clear they realised they took the character in the wrong direction post ffh and wanted to soft reboot him by the end of nwh. you can tell they wanted this version peter to have a closer relationship with tony stark than he ever did with uncle ben. in many ways this universe uncle ben IS tony stark which i don't know how i feel about since the reason peter becomes spider-man is uncle ben's death
i just feel like the entire original trilogy they didn't know what to do and realised they handled the character poorly so they made decisions that have absolutely no artistic integrity

The ridiculousness is people actually expecting or hoping an MCU movie to not look like a MCU movie.

Nah, Tony Stark is not Uncle Ben's replacement, it's obviously Aunt May. Her death in the last one is THE Uncle Ben moment for the new trilogy.
People are also forgetting that the Home trilogy was made just 5 years after TASM 1, conversations in like late 2015 and 2016 were about how they did not want to watch Uncle Ben dying and reliving the origin story yet again, so it was a conscious decision to lessen his role.
Pre-COVID NWH probably would have been different but they made a pretty good Spider-Man story, albeit with flaws, amidst the circumstances. I believe Tony was always gonna die and the trilogy was always set up to be about him becoming the actual classic Spider-Man; like the end of FFH obviously sets up him making a deal with some higher entity or something to erase everyone's memories of him. Only the multiverse aspect of the story grew as time went on. Even the writers have said that the character being 'reset' by end of NWH was always the plan, only the multiverse s*** was expanded.
Home Trilogy haters with another L as usual
This movie is literally trying to distance itself from home trilogy lol changing direction, style and everything and taking inspiration from Tasm 2, so if anything it's Home lovers are the ones who took an L
This leaked trailer was real this whole time
https://twitter.com/WilliamR56748/status/2004845222027821222Will this hit a billie with no multiverse shenanigans?

fair enough
all things considered, i do hope i enjoy brand new day but my expectations are low. at the very least i do enjoy the miserable peter angle they are taking but i already know just based off the visuals/cinematography/cgi etc, i will not like this that much
definitely has the potential to be my fav mcu spider-man film tho (bar is low as f***)
spider-man 2 remains the most influential spider-man media ever too
if my assumptions are correct, the angle they are going for here will be that due to peter prioritising his spidey life over his peter parker life, he ends up mutating and developing organic webbing
lol they obsessed with the fact spider man stopped chilling with them

S*** I would be too.

Man-Spider connection??

Feige kept saying we aren’t doing an origin story . Which cool we didn’t see the spider bite and early things but what we did see was a 3 movie origin story where Tony stark and stark tech hand held him through being spider man . Cool we didn’t see an uncle Ben but Tony was uncle Ben and Peter trusted every single man that came into his life costing him the life of aunt May . He immediately got a gf . He revealed his secret identity at the end of each movie and they for some reason refuse to keep his mask on as if they think we forget it’s tom holland

Let the brother cope
You got nearly 30 year old tom holland acting as a college freshman after being a high schooler for his 20s . Because they were so focused on keeping it a coming of age story . Aunt May dying when he is in high school in such a lazy contrived way vs when he is an adult . They could have crafted better writing for her than being “ happy thinks she’s hot lmfao “ over and over .
Am I the only person upset that May isn’t buried next to Uncle Ben?
Sony said “ if you not showing his death don’t show his grave “
