I think the crazier thing is that IMAX gave NETFLIX of all companies and exclusive IMAX window at Thanksgiving for Narnia
People see them
I'm aware
The point is that IMAX priority is not about quality, it's about money
The Odyssey could be the greatest film ever made but if it made 12 dollars at the box office then I promise you Nolan's next film afterwards would not get priority
They really going deep into the man-spider thing
I'm aware of that
And you responded to a post saying there's no point in seeing an MCU film in IMAX, and your reasoning was that is because it's not entirely filmed with actual IMAX cameras... but that applies to like 90% of films released in IMAX
I spoke on my personal preference and yes me personally I don’t see movies in imax that are not at all shot on imax . The actual imax by me is a drive like 20 miles and I don’t do lie max because I’ve done lie max before for eeaao premiere here but I only really did that because directors there .
I’m saying for me and many people for the cost of lie max ticket and distance vs Dolby it makes sense . S*** doesn’t just apply to marvel movies but in a thread about marvel movies and imax I focus on marvel movies

Family movie and avengers didn’t get there first
You guys are also ignoring the fact this is largely MCU trying to stomp on others dates with contracts already signed
Sony knew Nolan already took those screens evidently by the fact they didn't sign IMAX deals in 2024. In Doomsdays case it was a clear bullying attempt to force their way in

I'm just talking about the Netflix part of all of this
That s***'s crazy to me still but if Netflix is making more of a pivot to theatrical then I welcome it
Really sucks that Disney got hold of Spider-Man
After everyone celebrated when it happened for the crossovers we got a mixed trilogy and he dissapeared in a movie for years

Netflix sees the money that’s when people were panicking about Netflix buying wb I told them it will be fine or done be worse . Now it is worse and they b****ing

Yes if nobody saw Nolan films they wouldn’t be in IMAX.

I mean outside of animation Sony f***ed up every other live action Spidey property they've pumped out without Disney so

They know this brother they just don’t care

I think the conversation doesn't need to be "IMAX should be reserved for the best films", it should be that there just needs to be more IMAX screens at this point. The only reason exclusivity even exists is because there are so few IMAX screens even available (not to mention LIEmax which is a whole other issue). In 2026, this still shouldn't be an issue imo

That plot like clone saga is more fitting of a tv show . This movie feels a bit overstuffed but will see how it goes

I just don't buy that, if IMAX was really that important for Spider-Man, they wouldn't have knowingly put it one week after The Odyssey the very same month that release date was announced.

Since they dipped into streaming they are struggling with the difference between the two

I don't think more screens would ease this issue. It just means more screens for folks to watch Odyssey and Dune 3 on lol
IMAX isn't a hollywood studio. There's always going to be exclusive rights contracted out

Even if there are more screens lets say double the screens and all real iMax in every theater . Companies will still do exclusivity deals because it’s the most expensive format to recoup their budget . No one cares about 3d and they aren’t getting worldwide 70mm cuts .
Exclusivity deals will always exist

Exactly
Haven’t watched the tom holland movies but why mj acting like she don’t know him?
Because at the end of the last one in order for him to stop the multiverse from collapsing in on itself Peter had Doctor Strange erase everyone's memory of Peter Parker. This is because in the beginning of No Way Home he went to Doctor Strange to have everyone forget he was Spider-Man after his identity was revealed in the 2nd movie. Peter f***ed that up, letting in villains from the Tobey and Andrew movies into the MCU and yadda yadda
At the end of the day a whole lotta multiverse stuff that if you don't like multiverse capeshit stuff you probably wouldn't get into anyway
