You can't emphasize the importance of being his own Spider-Man and then force him into a scene where he literally copies Iron Man. The whole movie is at odds with itself.

It's just like how Homecoming ends super well with him deciding not to be an Avenger, only for him to end up in the Avengers movie in the Iron Suit literally less than a year later.

I'm not trying to hate, but I'm also not alone in this criticism here. There's a clear reason that Marvel/Sony is trying to make it up to Spider-Man fans here and give Tom some actual growth/indepence with this film. If he's gonna continue being Spidey, there's only so much they could do while keeping him tied to Iron Man like that.

seems like you want isolated films and I can honestly respect that. I just disagree with the idea of it being a betrayal but I can still see where you are coming from now at least

its also the end of the trilogy, all of the "home" series has been percieved well so I dont think they are trying to make anything up to anyone. I think they always planned for the third movie to have the most revelations no matter the direction it took since it closes out the trilogy .

Honestly, the existence of Spider-Verse, PS4 Spidey, and (now) this film helps ease my disappointment/lack of connection in the MCU Spider-Man.

Between 2008 and 2018, the only versions of Spidey were Tom and Andrew, both great actors playing good Spideys in movies that completely do not understand the character.

I don't think it's a betrayal. Nothing that drastic. And i don't even mind connected films. I just want Spider-Man to be able to be his own hero.

Between Homecoming and FFH so many themes are rehashed and never solved. They constantly go back and forth between Spidey deciding to be his own hero only to get forced back by Disney into the "Iron Boy" situation because they know RDJ sells money.
