why would you want them to flee and abandon the people of their world, that's not very hero-like
"they lose against Galactus and had to leave " meaning they had no other choice and some involvement from Franklin brings them to the mcu Earth

Was very surprised this wasn’t the ending ngl especially bc I had heard of what the end credits to thunderbolts was

yeah but that's not honorable as a superhero team, they won't just abandon their earth, specially considering all of this could have been avoided if they gave away their kid, I knew they wouldn't go with this despite the Thunderbolts post credit scene
The thing you're suggesting can only work in two parts like Infinity War and Endgame where they can fix things in the 2nd one

It doesnt have to be honorable. It's just the more interesting outcome. The F4 lost their world due to selfish reasons and are the only survivors. It adds weight and guilt to the group and it can directly lead into secret wars where their primary motivation for participating is that they can restore their home back.
Even something like, the group won and stopped Galactus from destroying their world but at the cost of them being sent away to another world making them look like martyrs instead of losers also could of worked.
I just dont think it should of been a total victory like it was in the film

I think it's fine the way it is in the movie, they didn't actually defeat or even overpower him. He was able to return despite Sue basically putting all her life force into it, Thing and Human Torch weren't able to do anything and Reed got played like a rubber band. It was his own herald who gave the final blow and even that didn't kill him, just displaced him far off into the universe. I believe FF have defeated Galactus using wit or even luck multiple times in comics so it's not even a crazy thing to happen in the movie. I think it makes more sense for Doom to be the catalyst of events happening in Doomsday specially considering his past with F4\. Their ship crashing in MCU will probably play the role the Hulk's crash did in IW.

Yeah you can't really kill Galactus, its always a outmaneuver or negotiate with him type of deal. I just think doing so at some cost would just been the more interesting direction especially with this film purpose in setting up secret wars.
Doom being the catalyst could still work but it means that nothing really changed after Galactus to the point this should of just been a F4 v Doom movie that set ups the following avengers film. Cause now Doomsday gonna have to juggle many different plot points

Y'all do realize there's a fantastic four spoiler thread right

The conversation just organically happened here after my first reaction lol
Thought this was pretty great. It f***ing soars when it’s just Reed and Sue or when the two of them really take the lead.
Vanessa Kirby was otherworldly, so, so good. And Pedro, unless you’re just sick of his face at this point, I’m not sure how you can not like his performance. I can’t think of the last time I enjoyed him in something to this degree. Narcos??
Ben was good given what he was given, and Johnny was uhhhh… a mixed bag!
Unfortunately, a lot of my problems are concentrated in the final ~10 minutes, but I’ll get to those in the spoiler thread.
I know MCU discourse online is dead but the way people talk about this online you’d think it was panned and hated lol
In reality it got an A- cinemascore, 86% on RT by critics and 92% by audience, 3.6 on LB. It has its flaws but what comic book movie doesn’t?
We can admit that MCU has fallen off but can also admit when they get one right. This year they got two
I was just thinking about how much s*** First Avenger would have gotten if it released today lol. There’s little to no action in it with most of it coming from an act 2 montage. It also landed in the 70% on RT. Back then that was a solid score for a CBM and people were happy with the movie. Nowadays a CBM probably flops if it lands in the 70% range
It feels like critics used to be harsher with reviewing CBMs back then while audiences were more forgiving and now that’s flipped

Which brings me to my next point that it’s hard to make a legitimate origin story in todays market. It requires for a smaller story and audiences don’t have the patience for it anymore
Now we have movies that skip the origin in favor to jump right into the action. It makes for an entertaining movie but also makes it harder to connect with the heroes
mix of being stuck inside online, kids growing up with snarky youtube critics becoming that themselves, and letterboxd blowing up
1st half is some of the best MCU in years.
2nd half fell flat for me. Can't put my finger on it but I walked out out of this less excited than I did for Superman.
That being said, I'm glad we finally have a decent F4 movie. The cast was great, especially Ebon and Vanessa.
Honestly this was the best marvel movie I’ve seen since no way home
