Sneider heard they were considering some sort of spy show, and that they're working on a True Detective style show that would be people investigating crime in the MCU, random characters cameoing

My prediction is that X-Men will lead to the death of MCU and they should not put their entire focus on them.

    Why’s that

I think it's gonna be a similar situation to Fantastic 4, people online think they're bigger characters than they actually are. I honestly don't think people irl care about most of these characters except for like Wolverine.

Like I saw the Doomsday trailer along with my BND screening and none of the X-Men got any response but everyone was cheering for Thor and Captain America. Marvel pivoting hard to X-Men and ignoring the characters MCU propelled from C-Tier to S-Tier is gonna be a bad move.

Also while I love Beef and Thunderbolts, Schreier needs to add more action to these movies (I'm assuming he's gonna be an architect sort of these), I think one of the reasons for F4's failure was the lack of action. These are superhero movies at the end of the day no matter how 'elevated' they are or whatever. Real stunts and cool setpieces like fighting the Hulk was a major reason BND is so successful.

Also it's just hard to get people interested into these movies anymore, specially after COVID. Spidey is ofcourse the goat and in a tier of his own but most Superhero movies have been underperforming. It's gonna be an uphill battle doing a soft reboot with new leaders in charge of MCU.
Post-Secret Wars it's gonna be like Phase 4 all over again, but I'd say yeah X-Men are bigger characters so it's not gonna be as tough to get people interested into them as some of the other characters Marvel tried to push post Endgame but I still think people here are massively overrating how much the franchise is revered outside of online fans.

I think it's slightly different here. F4 never had a great launchpad and has always struggled as a film property. They haven't been noticeably popular this entire century. You can argue the lack of weaving them into MCU stories (Kang/Doom) like they are with mutants now hurt it. Its a 4-person team vs a foundational universe element of Marvel

I don't think expectation should be like billion dollar films out the gate, but its their responsibility to improve box office and influence of the group as they did with Iron Man, Avengers, etc... You do that by showing attention and warping them into films with characters people care about. It was the key element of BND ($2B+ film) and prob will shape BP3 and others while running its own film series that progressively introduces more fan favorites like Wolverine, Storm, etc..

I don't see what's making you question potential action of an X-Men film given that they exist to fight and do action. You praise the Hulk scene yet that was enabled by the mutant elements of the film.

All fair points. I think doomsday and secret wars will ofc dominate the box offices, but I also do think their respective qualities and how they introduce the characters will go a long way, or should go a long way if done well, in propping up XMen

But, for example, if secret wars has like minimal minimal screen time for the new cast and crew, they may absolutely be setting them up for failure because fans will still leave the theater yearning the OGs especially if the movie serves as one last hoorah for the OGs

Was just making the F4 comparison cause people here were making similar claims for it as they are for X-Men now. That they are the first family of Marvel, they're rightfully gonna reclaim their footing in Marvel kingdom from C-tier MCU characters, how that movie and Superman are gonna do super well, all for F4 to flop cause most people just didn't care for them (even though the movie was decent-to-good).

I'm not doubting an action film will do good, I'm just not sure if Schreier will do it justice. He'll nail the humor, drama and character dynamics but I hope the action is a step-up from recent Marvel movies not named BND.
It's too soon to tell but I hope it's not a repeat of F4 which lacked in action imo and where it seemed like a lot of stuff was cut for possibly budget issues.

Fair. Thought it'd do better than it did but the whole first family stuff i eye-rolled at each time. I do think they're showing improvement already from how they just made F4 and expected fans to show up with no reason to care. They're not just dropping X-Men on us. Mutants will just be an element of Marvel for foreseeable future.

Enjoyed his work in Thunderbolts a lot, which I walked into lukewarm and not really looking forward to, but left with one of my better in-theater MCU experiences in years. Didn't help most of the characters were from low-performing films or Disney+ shows though.

Also they have the benefit of going straight into this mere months after SW compared to the first Phase 4 films being 2+ years after Endgame.
