I think Gunn and Co know they can't top Marvel this year. And Gunn is still filming Superman This panel will probably be low-key.

I think its different because those were just 'I don't think that actor can be the character' and they were wrong

this is them fundamentally changing doom and shifting the character. i still think we'll get an abridged and remixed version of typical doom

(maybe howard stark gave tony away as a baby to a latverian tribe and the rest is just basically doom but with tony. i also think it could thematically and writing wise actually be cool. main timeline tony saved the universe, this one will destroy it etc)

but this isn't JUST 'RDJ is a bad acting pick' its 'this means we aren't getting a well told and faithful doom, we're getting a new remixed doom mixed with tony stark'

I do think tho that the actual main Doom that will stay in the MCU long term will be revealed in Secret Wars if they reset everything
