He's doing some unnecessary damage to his campaign but tbh this is a ruthless race. 4-way at least. The narrative was gaining serious steam for Leo, Ethan and Wagner before this quote. This isn't the clear route some hyped it to be.

Leo looks convinced this is his opening and hasn't locked in like this on a campaign since The Revenant. Still actively pushing OBAA, attending For Your Consideration Q&A's, interviews, did the Time Entertainer of the Year 2025 cover and followed up with a Scorsese Q&A. He's incredibly aggressive right now and isn't finished

Timmy's still firmly in it but i don't think he realizes when you release in late December, your marketing run IS your oscar campaign. A lot of this isn't clicking outside of his fanbase + cinephiles intent on buying tickets anyways

I’m hoping this does as great as possible because Josh deserves it, but it’s also in a rough spot against Avatar dominating screens.

He’s gotten people into the bombers and blimps, showing off his own celeb status, but I feel like the whole promoting the 1950s ping pong sports drama thing has been missed a bit. I personally haven’t seen new audiences attach which might not matter given his massive base.

Mentioned it here around the time of his pop up but still give props to this overall cus it’s something new.

I was talking about marketing…the movie. A lot of this all has been about Timmy and his celebrity appeal which is fine. I just haven’t see with friends and people around me them gravitating to the movie

OBAA was a lot of them stepping out of their comfort zone trying to market..the movie for a director who’s never grossed this much before

I thought ppl were right about it being how he is, because of the references (and sometimes reposting) they would make about his comments in that clip from the speech at the sag awards (i think it was?)

but just briefly reading about Marty now I kinda feel it's part of the marketing, getting people to talk about the movie more by reposting the clip etc, maybe even doing a hatewatch type thing... idk
