1. My main reason is identity, we are becoming a state owned club, a literal country controls us. We will be a Qatari's club forever, they will never have reason to sell us. We will be known in a few decades as the Qatar club and our past achievements will not prevent that (young people, don't care about 30 year old league titles, they will only see an oil club)
2. They are a state which means they have an unlimited budget, having an unlimited budget feels unfair, it feels like cheating in a game, just like I've always felt City have cheated their way to titles. And celebrating oil titles for us would makes me an incredible hypocrite.
3. We are in FFP trouble atm so maybe we can spend only 100 mil on transfer this summers, you think the Qatari's will only want to get 1 player this summer for their big takeover? of course not, they'll get multiple stars in and they'll find some accounting way to do this, we'll be happy this summer and in 10 years we could be in the same position City is in now.
4. How will our club actually be run? PSG has had Qatar for more than a decade now and apart from a few worthless Ligue 1 titles they have not won a CL, they have bought all the best players in the world, but have had absolutely no plan (similar to Glazers), have gone through 10 managers or so. It is not like they're exactly hands off like people think they will be. If EtH doesn't win anything next season despite a few signings they could just sack him if he does not go well with a new star signing like Mbappe. Plus we might not even be their first priority with PSG in the picture and .
5. And last (this seems like the only refutable argument in this thread), the state that wants to buy us is not the best in the world, homosexuality is illegal there, women are oppressed and thousands of migrant workers died there to build stadiums. (that's why saying 'reported' is kind of funny to me). And please don't tell me the US or UK are equal or worse (that may be), but we are not owned by the United Stated or the United Kingdom and they are not looking to buy us.
I hope this is enough, but you can always asks me further questions, but I got work to do now so I can't respond for some time. It is just my opinion and you can agree with me or not. I don't blame anyone for still supporting United after a Qatar takeover cus its a club we have all grown to love and giving it up like that seems very difficult, I just have a feeling that love will fade for me, which is hard to face. I'm not even trying to convince y'all per se to feel the same as me, it is just a personal rant that I can't have anywhere else at the moment. I'd really prefer just a consortium or individual investor buy us instead of a state.

Point 1: Identity.
You’ve made it clear that being owned by a state investment agency that purports to infest on behalf of a country crosses the line as it strips the club of its identity. The other end of the spectrum of course would be a fan-ownership model but we can both agree that its wholly unrealistic. But where do you draw said line? Here are a few hypotheticals to help us find where that is:
Would an oligarch from a corrupt African nation that makes its money from diamond mining not strip our identity?
Would a royal arab whose initial money comes from the state but has since made 98% of it via investments in western businesses not strip our identity?
Would a western business man whose money comes from years exploiting labor under inhumane working conditions not strip our identity?
Or would we still be known as “blood diamond club”, “arab money club” and “slave labor club” respectively?
Another thing to think about is what if the qataris are the only bidders that want to introduce a 30% fan ownership model, would that turn the tables entirely for you?

Point 2: Unlimited Money = Cheating.
This would’ve been a potent argument years ago before the introduction and tightening of FFP regulations. Nowadays top clubs are much more limited by how much they’re allowed to spend rather than how much they can spend. Practically every club that wants to compete for titles is spending as much as they’re allowed to as it would be near impossible to compete otherwise.

Point 3: They’ll Try to Cheat FFP.Your assertion that they won’t accept the limitations and attempt to get around it seems unfounded but i’ll engage with it anyways.
Here’s where I think we differ from other clubs, the sheer amount of revenue this club generates via sponsorships are commercial deals is only matched by madrid, we’re MASSIVE, global, top 5 brands itw. We can spend a f***ton FAIRLY without the need for shell companies or shady dealings. Does that rule out them wanting to get around FFP anyways? no, but i don’t think they’ll wanna risk it especially if an example is made out of city and considering everything i’ve mentioned.

Point 4: Club May Be Ran Poorly:
This is a fair point. Given how terribly the club is ran at the moment, it would be quite the achievement to do a worse job.
Yes the glazers spend, but as we all know its done sporadically and just enough to qualify for the UCL and cash out. We can only speculate on how the qataris will run the club, but if you’re giving me the choice between how we’re currently ran and how PSG is ran i’m choosing PSG every time.

All we know for certain is the club is run terribly atm with Eth being our only saving grace, so i’d be willing to roll the dice knowing that the odds are in our favor.
Ideally if we could identify those who would run the club well and those who wouldn’t we’d support those who would’s bid but we just have no way to tell until it happens unfortunately.

I think £25-30m is fair if we can get that. He turns 30 in a month and he’s on about 175-200k a week. Just hard to see anyone spend bigger than that sort of amount on him

what is the situation in your country?
In the UK you’ll need Sky Sports, BT Sport, Amazon Prime
And even then you won’t get every game (no 3pm Saturday kick off and numerous others)
