shoutout to @op for adding me to the list of united familia. been meaning to ask too, but kept forgetting
I don’t get why we don’t just include it. Zidane has chosen mendy and Marcelo over Reguilon. He’s not going to be first choice while zidane is there. Keep the stupid clause and worse case in like 6 years he leaves because he loves Madrid and he has become the best lb in England.
Most reliable sources indicating that the buyback is 35m in 2021, 40m in 2022.
Joke of a deal for us to take up, like we're some f***ing feeder club to develop their player until they're ready. Terrible precedent to set and a player who'll be halfheartedly committed.
Marcelo's contract runs till 2022. Zidane wants him in there atm for experience above all. No doubt in my mind they'll take up that buyback unless Reguillon turns absolutely s***.
Even more embarrassing for us if they were then to do what they did with Morata and flip Reguillon the next season for double the price.

I went through like pages 20-page 67 to see who was frequently posting

ok but the way buy back works is reguilon would have to still agree a contract with Madrid. they dont just bid 25M and hes automatically a Madrid player again.
if reguilon was first choice and playing well this year and next, I see no reason he'd want to just give that up to go battle for a job in Madrid.
(unless im wrong on buyback rules ??)

Do you really trust a dyed in the wool Madrid kid to turn that opportunity down though?
The temptation to return to his home, the club he loves and grew up in is always gonna be too strong. If he's doing well enough for us he's gonna most likely think he can win that spot off Mendy. Being in Madrid benefits his national team chances too.
Exact same scenario played out with Morata. Two great seasons for Juve and then back to Madrid. Benzema was still the top man for them then. But he still clearly thought it was worthwhile.

fair point on morata as the potential outcome.
sad cause I cant stand shaw and think anybody new would be a great improvement.

Yeah would have of course liked him here under more normal circumstances. But c'est la vie. Glad we stood our ground and are done with the days of making quick-fix signings that don't really wanna be here.
3 weeks to go still, lets see what happens.
Pain
F***ing Moyes. Imagine coming into the resources of United after years of penny pinching at Everton and turning down Thiago for Fellaini.
And then LVG turned down Kroos ffs.
Both infuriate me every time I think about it.

United are funding all of their other mediocre and fanless sports teams.
Romero,Rojo,Jones,Pereira,Lingard got to go idc if we have to pay 50% of thier wage for the next 2 year to get rid of all of them
all the small club gonna need to sell their best player soon due to this s*** united need to be ready to pick some of these dude up in january
Season is gonna b trash if we don’t sign at least 2 new players. I feel pity for Solskjær, he gone get the blame for this just like Mou.
