breakdown of shaw's time at united:
    60% injury room
    20% matches
    20% McDonalds drive-thru

That's an outdated, lazy critique of him considering he played the second most games of anyone outfield in our squad 18-19. And this season just 5 or so less

Would a better take be that he gets lost in the final third and doesn't track back?

the sad part of this mini-debate is that I still think hes better than Williams, although im rooting for Williams. home-grown, good attitude and hes a tough motherfucker.

    opposite of shaw mentality

    Tracks back plenty in general.

You lot have got tunnel vision on specific occasions where he's knackered like everyone in our squad, in a high intensity system that encourages him to get far forward.

Not to mention he has Rashford on his flank who barely helps him out defensively compared to Greenwood/James on the right.

Williams will get there but his weaknesses were well obvious after Shaw was injured. Our left side was leaky as f*** and Williams needs to bulk up. But as a duo they're plenty fine and good competition for each other.

I like Williams but he still has the inconsistency of a younger player.

It's honestly just refreshing to see someone playing with passion. He's a hard f***er

Mate, Daniel James ability to track back doesn't change the fact that Shaw is popping out of his kit at the beginning of every season.

Look I like Luke Shaw, but he has not lived up to his potential.

Excuse me for being critical of mediocrity with Liverpool winning the league, City realistically being linked with Messi, and everyone suddenly "falling in love" with Leeds United. I'm sick of having these bang average players on inflated wages clogging up our squad, when we seem to have a real solid crop of youth coming through.

Think Arteta will get found out this year

we'll see. he was one of my favorite non-united players while he was at Everton. that Arteta fellaini cahill trio was fun af.

Chelsea for sure, but are arsenal up to anything? havent seen anybody come in really. I rate spurs above them

Willian on a free is good business imo, when they start slacking he'll perform for them. Gabriel hasn't been announced yet as far as I know but he's done a medical iirc

Strong links that we're in for Van De Beek.

hmmmm weird fit. from what I saw, hes more attacking focused - not something we necessarily need with bruno/pogba/mata/pereira/lingard all similar.

Good depth for either pogba or Bruno I guess, he’s very good without the ball which is nice because I feel our attack can be very static at times.

Never want to see lingard or pereira again tbh

Same. Annoying we’ve seen no movement outgoing other than Alexis.

Yeah I thought this too at first. But a pretty shrewd move considering his cheap price tag. Only 23, used to high-energy style of play, leadership, can play a few different positions. Good purchase imo from a depth perspective.
