It's in his benefit to not agree a deal with other clubs at this stage. I would be extremely surprised if at least background musings had not occured. Definitely has been guilty of spreading rumours and flirting in the past, through 3rd parties typically yes, but that doesn't discount it. Regarding not refusing to train/play, well it certainly helps when you're injured all the f***ing time. But again, cultivating that image at this stage of his career really does him no benefit either. The club was never gonna feel forced into granting a January exit, unlike some who had valid and self-serving reasons to employ those tactics.
