Was just watching this, the right answer. I think because it’s us people like to add to the hysteria and get their soundbites but he’s literally a kid.

I’ve noticed something about Carrick and the way his subs work, especially in the games we’re losing, and I can’t tell if it’s actually something or just a coincidence/natural after the s*** window we’ve had.

Coventry lost 1-0 to City like us but City had all 11 men.

Coventry lost 1-0 to Hull, we lost 2-0

I wouldn't blame Carrick after that abysmal transfer window by the board. He's at fault for accepting it though and that might be worse.

he is their puppet, he said he wanted more what else can he do without outing Ineos

Carrick will end up getting sacked and we will repeat the merry go round of managers

I've zoned out, it gets easier when you start to accept what we are now

I think the most concerning thing for me is the lack of intensity

There's fundamentals missing, the nature in which the games have gone is why it's so concerning so early on

If only we had just stuck with Amorim, the team was so fit under him and the system was just about to click. I swear, we just needed to suffer a few more games and we would’ve been alright. We really played with intensity under him, we were intensely s***, but we were intense. Better days.

I only saw the first 20 mins last night, killed them in that time

Not sure what happened after but Carrick was able to improve this up & down mentality last season (enough to get results, we still crumbled at times) so I think he will sort stuff out again

Last season under amorim, sometimes we were good first half & fell apart 2nd. Then with Carrick it more so was a slow start & better 2nd halves in general.

That tielemans comment about preseason fitness training could likely have been individually applicable to him since he was recovering from a hamstring issue at the World Cup.

They’ve got all the data team keeping track of their individual fitness, but most of these players struggled the couple of times we played 2 times a week last season too

& obv we already know board didn’t recruit well enough in the summer which is a major issue

& we statistically just have very slow midfield and defenders. It is what it is lol

Balance of midfield recruitment should have been different - 1 of tielemans / santos not both.

Baleba obv better mobility but we know how shaky his overall game was last season

The club definitely cheaped out on the “midfield rebuild!!”

Our two key targets were Anderson and Fernandes. We got outpriced and outplayed on both of them.

Santos is simply not good enough. He was an easy signing from a rival club and apparently the “data” was good.

Tielemans had a release clause we knew about for months and only triggered when it became clear we couldn’t get anyone else. He’s 29 years old and he’s basically Eriksen level when we signed him (and we got that guy for free)

Baleba - TBC. Incredible 2 years ago, awful last year. But he’s very young with high potential uplift. Again, another player we could’ve signed months ago but pulled the trigger late out of desperation.

I expect the supposed “defence rebuild!” to go the same way.

Fail to sell Martinez and Mazraoui for good amounts. Definitely end up retaining Dalot. Probabl Maguire too. MAYBE we let Shaw leave on a free. De Ligt will stay by virtue of being physically dead

Chase Hall all summer, end up with some guy like Raum or something.

Overpay for someone like Branthwaite or Lukeba (players we’ve been scouting for multiple seasons)

Struggle to sign another CB and get one done late summer

Use this as an excuse to not sign another striker or a top tier winger because the defence is the focus and budget ran out
