Jul 7, 2024GrenouilleMy thoughts are that he looks alright. He’s a technically gifted no.9 who hopefully help to link play and bring the best out of Fernandes/Rashford etc. to score more.
From what I hear how he plays — he sounds kind of like a Dutch no.9 Martial, just taller with much better fitness and probably less clinical edge in front of goal.
£34m is a pretty acceptable deal when you consider the fees guys like Minteh, Gray et. al are transferring at lower down the league
I also like that he and Hojlund are very different type of no.9s. There’s a big risk that neither have ever had a big goalscoring season, and both are still very young, but they could be good foil for each other depending on the gameplan.
good insight. I think we will play bruno false 9 with mount behind him to start the season. ETH seemed to have found that type of formation with mctom worked best. and mount will be an upgrade on scotty.

I feel like they’re pinning a lot of their hopes on an Amass breakthrough in the next two years despite him being a literal teenager.
Like there’s no guarantee that this goes as smoothly as FM, at least invest in on WB.
Can’t fault Ten Hag for pushing the youth team players though, it’s a great part of this club.

even on FM he never really makes it. but yeah its a s***show at LB especially. shaw is obviously going to be injured half the season. and malacia was poor in his first season. definitely going to see a lot of dalot LB.
