Everything about the deal didn’t make much sense really — he is/was a no.10 who is more of a second striker running off the ball and needed guys like Frenkie/Ziyech/Tadic doing all the creative work for him. For one, that was never going to work for us. We didn’t/don’t have that creativity in the squad from deeper or wide areas.

Secondly, we decided to buy a no.10 as backup for the one freak of a player who can play 80 games a season and basically never get injured. Pointless signing in all from all involved.
