yeah I want us to move away from that and build a functioning team that work and play for each other, not having to carry a player because he’s too good to run, how many big names have come and gone over the last 10 years not to mention the wage structure being even more f***ed as soon as he arrives

United are at a point of investing in unknown smart talents to build a solid future and foundation on.

Not the boring worldstars that everyone and their moms can value for talent who ultimately bog the budget and dressing room down.

In a couple years those big names gladly come to an already established top performing United side.

The difference is a bottom-up approach instead of a heavy top-down one, which never worked in the past anyway.

Get some good squad players in first to increase the average talent level of the whole team and build up healthy competition.

if the best player in the world is available id like them in a united shirt can't believe that's even an argument.

we almost signed Ronaldinho in 2003. that would've been a great 7 years. don't care if we won as much or more, just would've been fun to enjoy it week in week out.

Zidane, kaka, etc. who are we to say we can win more because we have less talent? literally makes no sense.

up to you. just surprised its even a a discussion. I wish we had Zidane or dinho or all the other superstars we missed out on during SAF time.

tired of seeing them all wind up in Spain playing 6 meaningful UCL games, 2 meaningful league games, and maybe a cup final game. boring.

from a neutral pov its great for us if exciting players come to EPL. from united pov, yeah id like KDB, Hazard, etc to have come to us instead of Chelsea/city. but I still enjoy that they're in England. crazy statement to make to think we can't win with a star player like that. talent is 50% of the task at hand.

The major reason i disagree is because you aren’t taking into account the vast difference between Sir Alex’ squad and time at the club and how things are put together now.

SAF had a high enough base level to integrate those major names so yea i get being disappointed in that case.

But trying to fill in key positions with big names rn seems not only financially irresponsible but kind of a wishful thinking. One excellent position won’t solve every issue with United currently.

Plus yeah i’ve seen too many signs that Mbappe isn’t an easy player to integrate. Bit too diva for this current fragile squad i feel.

Ofcourse.

But everyone can see that the current balance is not right for the average squad player and not enough to bring in major names.

I think this coming summer United should divert their focus into multiple key positions instead of one major one.

Sure there is place for a big name but usually a wonderkid is already too famous to buy for a low price anyway so they kinda are included in that category.

I’m saying if scouting do their job at the maximum levels you would see definite hits with no-names replacing McTominay, Lindelof, Maguire, Greenwood, Antony, Eriksen at a higher level.
