The difference yesterday was that Ten Hag actually executed his 3 at the back + inverted full back tactic that we've seen sporadically but which we've always looked more aggressive and effective with.
Hope he sticks with it this time. Amrabaat had great energy drifting in centrally, allowed Mount and Hannibal to push up and both ran their asses off which those 8's need to be doing. And Amrabaat and Casemiro were both great and dropping back and filling in when Dalot fancied roaming.
If you propose to play Casemiro and Amrabaat alongside each other then you're not replicating what we saw yesterday. You either lose an 8 or one is shoved out wide.
But we gotta see how this translates against proper opposition.
Malacia is really the only other player who has been decent executing that role.

ETHs at the wheel!

theyre just not it. at all. need David gill back.

No, was technically four at the back, but with the actual inverted full back. I.e: Amrabat was playing more centrally than left back (which is where he was on the teamsheet).

Yeah it’s absolutely baffling how many times they’ve extended contracts for absolutely no reason and then it backfiring

gotcha. the zinchenko move.

weird decision. no need either, its not like we are challenging for the title, and have had a 10/10 first season.
Unless ETH is on a 18 month deal I’ve got no idea why they are pushing for a new deal

I don’t want any contracts extended at this club anymore until 1 year of from expiration.

Ngl I didn’t expect that szlobolai to be that good
Liverpool could've won league this year if they got Caicedo

thats stupid and gives leverage to playas who can leave for free

Don’t think we’ll need him to challenge this year but we’ll see.
Got a few players now in the mid that can put in the DM graft.

nah lol chill
him or lavia would’ve been a great and helpful addition but the defense is still pretty shaky at times and the team still hasn’t really been properly tested besides newcastle - if the next 3 games (spurs and brighton away and merseyside derby at anfield) go well i’m gonna be impressed though
really amazed by szoboszlai as i expected though, so glad to have him and as i said before i was over the moon with his signing compared to the rest and so far he’s even exceeding my expectations, truly a world-class baller - i knew he was gonna be amazing but goddamn he’s really carrying this team i just hope he stays healthy cause otherwise it would be so over
the ability to turn around matches is impressive though i’ll say that but i doubt that having these slow starts to the game will work against stronger teams
