The pilot is lowkey one of my least favorite Episodes.
Opening scene and closing reveal are magic but there’s a lot in the middle where you can tell they didn’t have a lot tied down, it comes through pretty glaringly in the writing and characters.
I give it a pass cuz it is a pilot but I think the show finds its footing almost immediately after (unlike most other shows) and that only makes the pilot stick out more.
Damn to me is the opposite, I remember giving a clear note to most of the characters and it expresses a lot how people behave, with Don womanizer tendencies, Peter as bratt, Peggy the new girl etc.
Plus companies screwing what science says in order to sell will be always a fantastic motif to me in media and established how ultra-capitalists those times were.
Also got my Don's favourite line: "I won't let a woman talk like that to me"

Also y'all wildin for hatin on Jimmy, this was peak moment 😂😂
I remember someone commenting here that The Sopranos works well if targeted as dark comedy, you could make a case for Mad Men too because scenes like these.
peggy >>>>
finally got the context of "
" and man.... might be one of the best episodes in the show
really glad peggy stood up to dom finally even though it kinda went left for a bit lol. glad they made up afterwards tho

Jimmy ain't the problem btw, Glenn is
I really need to rewatch this.
Would you believe I have this show in my top 5, and I’ve never watched season 1?
Watching some clips before I pick my rewatch back up, the hate that January Jones used to get is wild. It’s died down a bit in recent years but there are still people out there who think she did a bad job
On what is prob like my 10th rewatch atm, still picking up cool details
very goated show
I really need to rewatch this.

She plays her like a child
I don’t know how much she’s stretching herself as an actress but it works perfect
I love her scenes with Glenn, even in spite of that actor lol
This is amazing
I really need to rewatch this.

I’m pretty sure we’ve had this convo before but season 6 is great. I love how overstuffed and strange it gets. It’s admittedly a big departure from everything that comes before it but not so much so that it becomes unrecognizable.
Don’s life is falling apart so quickly and it’s in such shambles that huge moments like him almost drowning to death or being thrown in jail are treated like blips, it’s a bit surreal
Plus the final scene of that season is my favorite in the whole series
