Title is not accurate, I really think he switched up his position to protect his career. Of course he’s gonna give some liberal response, especially since he never had radical politics fr.
Also he is a person who believes that there’s reasoning on both sides which leads him to sit the fence sometimes. Very disappointed that he decides to prioritize himself rather than the lives of fellow Muslims and Palestinians

They don’t fundamentally care about Palestinian liberation or whatever Israeli government is in charge, the hostages is just an extension of that. If the hostages are freed and Netyanhu or whoever decides to continue the status quo (which they will) then outside of protests or some dissidence the pushback will be even less than it is now
