I haven't followed the story behind this at all, is this the sound he'll be going for the whole album?
Not too sure but the interview he did said "jazz-infused"
I replayed TY more than any Atlantic record you mentioned (FL, cool, lasers, fl2). Music is subjective my friend
In fact, lasers and fl2 had the least replay value to me than any of his albums, and those 2 were controlled by the label the most
Facts
His stuff isn’t polished musically. His lyrics will always be there but since he’s left Atlantic he just feels like he can drop whatever he wants.
Most of its lackluster I think there are moments where he gets it right like on “Halie Sellasie & WAV Files” but this single right here there’s nothing about it that would make you want to replay it or keep listening
Yeah that’s the main thing I don’t like about lupes post-Atlantic music it lacks replay value. Label sucked but yeah at Least they would push him to collaborate with different people to get the most out of his songs
Most of his stuff now just sounds like free flowing stream of consciousness over a beat it’s not really well thought out for musical listening and I doubt he cares lol
It’s all good I love lupe but I stick to F&L The Cool F&L II LASERS (grew on me)
T&Y is ok imo and the two Drogas aren’t all that not much he’s only gotten worse it seems
T&Y is arguably his best album and is definitely LEAGUES above F&L 2 and Lasers.
His music will never be as good as it was when he was on the label

To be fair though F&L2 was mainly on his own accord, the only thing Atlantic had a hand in the album was nearly stopping Lupe from putting Battle Scars on the album

Dawg what? I'd say Lupe developed Musically in the sense of picking better beats and diversifying song structures, though the only arguable drawback could be is mixing. Tbf Lu did state he doesn't really care for collaborating with bunch of different artists, let along rappers after he dropped T&Y.
This single is dope imo and it seems like it'll be the only light listening track out of the album, as rest of the project will be more dark im guessing.
But to each their own
I haven't followed the story behind this at all, is this the sound he'll be going for the whole album?
Apparently not.
It's not ass, it's decent. The verses are dope. The flows/rhymes schemes are really nice but the beat, the hook and the outro leaves a lot to be desired. The outro was unnecessary and didn't add anything to the song. Could've been an extra verse or just instrumental instead of taking the worst part of the song and having it sung in autotune. Beat is ok, hook is weak and sounds Cardi B inspired because of the flow. I'd give the song a 6 or 7.
You know you’re trying to force yourself to believe that Lupe over a basic and average trap beat with an ass hook is a good thing. Nobody on earth wants to hear him doing this.

Did you read my entire post? Cause it doesn't seem like it.

I asked him to do this for years since Deliver dropped

Just ignore that guy. He's been trolling in here for a while just trying to start arguments with people. Needs to grow up before you waste your time with him

Y’all gotta let nostalgia go. His music now is just as good and even better in some aspects.
I’m gonna try and avoid listening to AUTOBOTO. Since the album only has 10 tracks, I wanna experience the album as a complete project. But if anyone wants to slide that “developed myself in a fine way, life a sine wave” video of him recording for DMIZ that disappeared off YouTube this way, I wouldn’t be upset 👀👀👀👀
