In Rob I trust
How would you feel if Rob traded the 25th pick + whatever salary for Derrick Jones Jr on draft day?
Draft season approaching yall
Alot of the guys that I like went back to college or increased their stock.
But here's some guys to keep an eye on
Joshua Jefferson
Henri Veesaar
Amari Allen
Zuby Ejiofor
Out of all the guys I just named, I would choose Joshua Jefferson.
He's a 6'8 forward who has high IQ and good feel. He's a really good passer and basically a point forward. Also a great defender that has good hands and knows where to be and very switchable on D. Can score inside. His main weakness is his shooting (34% from 3).
Most mock drafts have Lakers choosing Henri Veesar. He's a 7 foot center that shot 41% from 3 but he's not switchable on D and not the greatest defender. He has good basketball IQ but he's not much of a lob threat. He's also skinny af.
Veesar fits with Luka because he can stretch the floor but I don't trust his 3 point shooting (He shot 61% from the free throw line; red flag) and he will probably be a drop coverage big since he can't switch. I honestly wouldn't draft him.
I wouldn't be mad if Rob traded the pick too.

idk s*** about college players aside from the top 10 or so lol
i think they should go after whoever the best available player who's most ready to play rotation mins next season.

nope, gotta be a player who moves the needle more than djj or draft someone who can play immediately and have that player for 3-4 years at a cheap contract.

if it's most ready to play rotation minutes, then it would be Joshua Jefferson, which is another reason why I want him. Next would be Amari Allen.
The problem is that they're both forwards and we already have Laravia, Vando and Thiero that we can play.
That's why it's most likely gonna be Veesar, the center. But if his shooting is fake, then he's useless since he can't defend like that and he's so skinny that he can't post up on NBA bigs.
I'm lowkey hoping Rob packages it in trade along with Knecht and/ or Vando for a rotation player.

i mean the pick would be made with now and the future in mind. dont see laravia, vando, or thiero getting in the way of that. laravia is on an expiring going into next year, not necessarily a part of the future, vando is not a part of the future and wouldnt be surprised if he gets traded, and the verdict is out on thiero.

Our team defense sucks. Thatās why we are a contender. We need to draft plus defenders. A fast PG would be nice too

"Around February, Zaidi started placing calls to agents representing front office and medical personnel to inquire about their clients.
Around three months later, the Lakers offered Steve Senior, an assistant general manager for the Minnesota Timberwolves, the job of executive vice president of basketball operations.
Senior, who declined to comment, decided to remain with the Timberwolves, according to multiple league sources."
"Whether theyāre still looking to fill that role is unclear.
Pelinka recently told reporters the team will be hiring a pair of assistant general managers; one focused on personnel, the other on strategy and a***ytics.
āWe have started a wide search and begun interviews,ā he said. That process is being led by Pelinka and longtime Lakers executive Kurt Rambis.
But, according to league sources, Friedman and Zaidi have been involved in the process as well, with at least one of them typically sitting in on interviews."
"The presence of Friedman and Zaidi has led to some speculation around the NBA that Walter could eventually look to replace Pelinka, who signed a multiyear contract extension and received a title bump last April, before the sale of the team.
Thus far, however, that does not appear to be the case.
Pelinka has told people around the NBA that he, Friedman and Zaidi are working āin collaboration,ā and that heās excited to be backed by a free-spending ownership group.
Heās also been the one running point on contract discussions with player agents."
"Bolstering the performance staff appears to be Friedmanās and Zaidiās other priority.
āWeāre working in collaboration with some of the Dodgers folks to bring in a biomechanics lab,ā Pelinka told reporters.
Until then, players may have to get used to working with the baseball group at Dodger Stadium.
That, according to two league sources, is what the Lakers told Austin Reaves to do while he was rehabbing from an oblique injury during the playoffs."
Summary
The Lakers offered Timberwolves assistant GM Steve Senior the job of executive VP of basketball operations. Senior decided to remain in Minnesota.
Dodgers executives have been involved in interviews for the Lakersā new assistant GM roles.
Interactions between Dodgers executives and NBA player agents have been minimal so far.
During the playoffs, Austin Reaves conducted part of his oblique rehab with the Dodgersā medical staff.
Who are the athletic defenders in the draft class. Could actually use defenders all over

Unless he can get Sarr from Washington or Ware from Miami it's most likely over

Zach Lowe on his most recent podcast shared the āwarinessā from potential candidates regarding the assistant GM position for the Lakers due to the question if this a āDodgers hire or Pelinka hireā and if they will be tied to Rob - or not - moving forward.
^^^
Wolves Assistant GM turning down the Executive VP of Basketball Operations position makes this Zach Lowe report more credible.
No one wants to work under Pelinka. Kurt Rambis is still an executive.
Jason Kidd being fired is a huge surprise
