Don’t understand why there’s so much hate for this

It’s less hate than a lukewarm reception. Royals is ten seconds longer than Man of the Year and feels so much richer. Hell, even Dominoes from Solar Power, two minutes long, feels more complete.

I loved the minimalism in the 1st single but this one didn't hit yet, too barebones

I was so hyped when I heard she worked with Dev Hynes. I was hoping for some Cupid Deluxe type bangers with a funky rhythm, but NO, she had to hit us with a minimalist introspective snoozefest, using him only for cello parts

I think this is a pretty interesting song on its own but i’m not sure if the whole album can pull this off.

I wish the second verse was developed more...it's just kinda nothing, then goes back into the chorus. It's all too quick.
