i said this earlier in the thread, and i get not wanting to appear as if you're siding on jobs/businesses over lives, but there's something to be said in the very least about being against black people's businesses being destroyed (essentially their livelihoods). You can be pro-protest (even pro-riot), and still be against the destruction of actual participants in the community's livelihoods, especially when such people are the ones you're trying to protect. f*** autozone, target, whatever else, those are ultimately chains that don't give a s*** about people one way or another, but local immigrant or community-participant owned businesses aren't just "businesses" in the sense of faceless investors trying to make money, they're the direct result (usually) of people's entire livelihoods and attempt of supporting their family.
it's not like people (on this site) are complaining about protestors burning golf courses or country clubs or useless upper class symbols like that, it's stuff like a black women's hair salon being thrashed and a black former-firefighter's sports bar being rampaged. this isn't even largely by black people either, it's by dumbass white people thinking they're helping black people by "revolting" when they're really makes things worse for the actual local community and just want to feel like they're making a difference.

The 92 riots was different there were majority korean store owners getting looted mainly because of the tension with situations like Latasha Harlins in 91

i'm just talking about this specific riot in this context, there's different nuances to each one and i'm not trying to make a universal statement

One of the officers there- Thomas Lane asks “should we roll him?” Chauvin says “No, staying out where we got him.” Lane asks again, “should we roll him on his side?” Concerned about “excited delirium” Chauvin says “that’s why we have him on his stomach”
