I think people who speak out against an important movement and protest like this because of looters are to be ignored. They want a peaceful protest to the point they can ignore it.
I don’t think that’s totally fair to say. Even George Floyd’s family is calling for peace at this point.

Nah this a reach.
Lots of companies are so large they don't even have full insurance, they self insure a large portion.
That cost ends up on products or cutting costs (workers)
They don't just say ok were back to business the next day and open back up. Takes weeks (if not longer) to set up the store again, clean up, figure out the costs.
And that is just for the large companies.
Tons of smaller stores hit
I know a girl whose family has a liquor store and it was absolutely trashed.
Even if you have insurance, which is costly and the premium will now go up, it likely does not cover all the costs.
The ins company tries to haggle you as well and they take time to pay you
they have billions and millions i still don't care
they'll rehire so not a perma problem
doesn't matter if they open uup next day, they'll still reopen.
they'll fix up and paint so not a real issue
Big businesses will not see a longterm hurt by this. they won't come close to shutting down or going bankruptcy from these riots and protests. If they it's more likely related to covid and quarantine
I and many others only care about the small ones and we do as much as we can to keep people from touching them and others spread the awareness. We can't all stop the people that are in it for their gain of hitting licks and getting s*** for free

He’s a known plagiarizer
I am not against looting, just looking at both sides of the story
-.- big fella this one not it. we seen the other side for years now. them clothes can be remade in the same Chinese factory for 10 dollars we can't revive the dead.
no im actually serious
How would it be trolling to ask what is the purpose of a peaceful protest?
My goal is to see if a protest can be done peacefully and cause change. If so, how is it done? And what constitutes peace/violence/gray area
Or if there has to be violence/chaos to get so much attention around something? If so, why this.
Some good answers actually, some I don't very much agree with, but I wanted to get opinions

kinda off topic, but i'm really, really hoping adam curtis is keeping an eye on this biz. the events over the past days/nights have been so interesting from the perspective of power. cops misusing it, some opportunistic looters misusing it, and many within the protests trying to channel it usefully. a couple days ago i lost a lil hope cus i thought the protests were losing too much focus n devolving into chaos for chaos' sake, and while some actors in these protests are still behaving in that way -- stupidly -- i've seen many who genuinely know what they're fighting for and it's encouraging.
y'all should peep some of unicorn riots previous vids if you want to see some interviews with all of the types of people i've mentioned above. i've pushed them a few times b4 in this thread, but the main guy in the minneapolis streams is definitely one of the ones with a good perspective, n he's great at interviewing people who are also on a good side of these protests.
Well... the protestors did break the vehicle. And all I saw the cops smash was the front windshield which was already f***ed. Kinda sus people trying to make it out like the police purposely destroyed it
Yeah that was misinformation unfortunately
damn hes real, got to see him at veld i dont even like edm, but he put up a nice show. Imagine if he tagged Virgil though
