u haven't been listening bud
Once again proving my point
People can talk about Yachty being a good rapper all they want, even if he is one. There are people, even diehard rap fans, who will never give him that’d respect as long as he continues to just make rap music
u haven't been listening bud
i think you haven't been listening to enough rappers bud
How come he doesn't consider the two to be mutually exclusive?
Sure but it’s not hard to assume what he means . Usually we consider people true “artist” when they are able to dabble in different genres or push the line of their current genre .

yes exactly

this one of the main reasons Ye so highly regarded lol

also he made a really good rap album spotlighting and showcasing a regional style of rap and no one paid attention to it lol
love it from boat. Lil boat 2 100p cemented him as a rapper.
he still got work to do as an artist but this recent tape was a good start. it's only going to get more spins as weather gets warmer.

Exactly. Rap fans disrespected tf out of him despite being lile 16-17 to the point of writing off everything else in his output afterwards
What else did they expect to happen?

once he drops more of his unreleased songs they gonna start paying attention 👨🏻🦯
Nothing wrong with that. Yachty has grown a lot since he first blew up in rap. He has improved as a rapper and has often gone out of his comfort zone. He's one of those dudes from the mumble rap/Soundcloud era that I'm surprised is still out here with a large and supportive fanbase. Ultimately, I just wonder who he is trying to prove himself too? Just gotta do this s*** for yourself tbh

What are you talking about everyone gassed tf out of MBB
What are you talking about everyone gassed tf out of MBB
Everyone who listened sure
But not many people listened compared to other projects

he one of the better/more interesting artists from Soundcloud era
I really wanted to be taken seriously as an artist, not just some SoundCloud rapper or some mumble rapper
virgin energy, just embarrassing
Bought a crib for mama off that mumblin' s***
He's spitting tho, public perception of SoundCloud rap is not good. We literally had a "Worst eras of rap" thread on here and SoundCloud Era was getting posted the most by far. Now Yachty wants to separate himself from that and you guys are s***ting on him for it
yachty needs to never rap again. keep doing this s***. this is his lane
pls no
If u a b**** ass using rap as a springboard ass type b****, its obvious from the jump.
It was obvious.
If he was gonna use rap as a springboard why would he wait six years
This though. People say stuff all the time like "Kanye an amazing artist but mediocre rapper", "Kendrick the better rapper but Drake the better artist", "J Cole a great rapper but mid artist" or strictly limit it to things like lyricism and wordplay when ranking rappers vs them as artists
But I already seen how they were moving after the Let's Start Here Pitchfork review mentioned that quote Yachty said. They just going to s*** on Yachty again and act like he's saying "rap is not art" or whatever
Nobody says drake is a better artist

lmao fr
yachty gonna drop a madlib album next
