Yachty is 100% that nigga y’all clown on here that says Tame Impala is his fav band
He could just listened to TPAB or the Funkadelics or Miles Davis and got the same effect, he ain’t need to go to white people and s*** in his own culture as he did it.
Nigga is pandering to white people, idk why you can’t see that s*** clear as day. That nigga from Mabelton, idk why he tryna act like he from Cleveland Georgia
Yachty is 100% that nigga y’all clown on here that says Tame Impala is his fav band
😭😭😭
it's so funny all you gotta do to be respected as a rap artist in the media is drop a terrible album outside the genre
Yachty was the worst part of his own album
no it isn’t old news at all f*** nigga lol
y’all were all up in that album thread trying to pass off that project as if it was some extremely new innovative experimental masterpiece, while niggas who are actually into rock were telling you it was poorly done
don’t start that revisionist s*** and start lying
I co-sign this heavy because I got shat on to oblivion in that thread for seeing right past it when it dropped lol
like whats so genre pushing about a gangsta grillz and copying neptunes production
i like tyler too
I think with Tyler it’s more about the world building and narratives he creates. If he didn’t have that he’d basically be a better quality Yachty now that I think about it

Also this post reminds me of how gassed everyone was when it was rumored that Kendrick was making a rock album.
Y'all remember that?

would’ve been sick..
Also idk why rappers are so desperate to act like rap isn’t the best form of music lol
Reloaded by Roc Marci s***s on that stupid ass Pink Floyd album
I think rappers like Yachty understand they’ll never touch the best within their genre so they move goalposts by making fisher price my first Tame Impala albums

I love Reloaded but I ain’t gonna go that far. Pink Floyd got some amazing albums, I’m just not gonna act like no hip hop album could ever come close like these rock guys do
Yachty gotta stop pretending he took some crazy risk making that damn album lol
If f***ing Moneybagg Yo made that s*** maybe it would be a risk but cmon lol

i read through that entire thread

It’s a reason Cole called him a shot putter in rap
yachty right tho, its a lot of fast food music
this but id say its across every genre in the mainstream right now. maybe its always been like this for other genres but it does feel like once covid happened, a lot of rappers entered into autopilot. And I’ll go back to how i started this, its across every genre. things havent felt exciting in a bit.

yea i agree, all genres are suffering from this. i think it's just a lot more prevalent in rap, ever since the corporations noticed it's the "trendy" genre and watered it down/commodified it

Except for that one album it's the type of music he's been making
You both draw a lot of inspiration from a lot of places. What’s a piece of art that transformed the way that you view your creative lens?
”Lil Yachty: For me, Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon … I heard that album, and it altered my perspective on music, in its entirety. After hearing that album, it sunk into my brain that we have been so limited with our content, compared to the things that we are able to do. Man, there’s endless ways to form a sonic wave. That album came out when there was no Auto-Tune, no ProTools, no FruityLoops.”
so the people in the album thread saying it sounded like knockoff prog weren’t wrong?
First song def similar to Great Gig in the sky
idk what’s funnier rating tyler for being boundary pushing when he does a lot of copying, him being unaware of how blatant he copies/makes low quality music or having his music discovery stage 10 years late
I think Tyler is boundary pushing, saying he's the only one is crazy
