The production is more tolerable and serviceable with no cringe inducing features like this Jellyroll guy imo.

I do agree with you that C5 got mindless positive reactions because he was being introspective on there, all in all that album really wasn’t all that outside of a handful of tracks.

People that try to place it over C4 just have different ears.

I'm wondering about what you think about this album being a desperate cashgrab/attention-grab or some form of that thing by way of him using the Carter series.

Because like if this is a carter...

I think I'm gonna do another listen just to have a more robust understanding

Haha it's funny cause I actually don't like C4, one of my least favourite Wayne albums. Always been hard for me to put into words why, album just feels hollow to me. Obviously his voice is still awesome at that point, maybe I find it overproduced with all the heavy hitting features and super clean beats. Actually going to give it a relisten right now.

I didn't really have any problem with the production on this album. Even Peanuts 2 An Elephant seemed pretty in line with a Wayne song to me, reminded me of songs like Mama Mia, purposely weird beats. Mama Mia was much better though when I relistened to it to compare.

I didn't like the features but that's pretty regular for me with a couple exceptions so doesn't matter to me much, but fair enough as a criticism. Can see how Jelly Roll, Big Sean, BigX, and mgk make the album worse. I also don't like the songs with his kids. The Bono song was weird.

I love Kodak though Wayne should've let him do the chorus of that song. Wyclef was cool but would have preferred that was just more Wayne. Same for 2 Chainz

we ALL know Elephant is bad, no need to reiterate that

I do feel like you have some truth to that
wayne might be desperate for some cash and hence he went all out with carter 6 even though it mightve been better receiveved as another name

BUT there are very good songs in there, might not be many of em but there are
