Tbh it met my expectations because I feel like it makes sense for where Lil Wayne is at in his career. He seems disconnected from what would lead to the standards people have for new music. I don't think he has anything to prove. I think he just wants to do quirky stuff and rap well. I think it's cool and this album sounded really fun to make for him.
If he's happy making it then I'm happy for him and he should follow that path. It's just unfortunate that there's that disconnect for me and seemingly a large portion of his fan base as well.
He will always be the greatest rapper to me because of what he did for me, even if that's just not him anymore
